I need a warehouse type space zoned for kenneling dogs. I've got an agent but it's been 2 months and I haven't had any luck. I've also looked on craigslist.org without luck. Are there any other avenues besides pounding the pavement?

The one where I work, is in an old funeral parlor! It made a great facility..So don't limit your imagination..do a Yahoo! or google search for 'commercial real estate' adding your own zip code...If you prefer to lease, do same search for 'commercial lease' with zip code..
Best of luck to you...

I've thought about doing the same thing, although I'm thinking more in terms of getting a piece of land and designing from scratch.

If I were going to do it your way, I'd keep doing what you've been doing, but I'd also check with animal rescue groups and your city and county government. For example, my city has an animal shelter committee, so that would be one of my stops. They might even help you get a zoning exception, if that turns out to be an obstacle.

You might even contact some local reporters to see if one of them wants to do a write-up on the story. That could generate alot of leads.

Don't trust your agent to do all the work. Check the realty listings on the web yourself. You might find something even more suitable than a warehouse. like the funeral home Chetco mentioned.

And be patient. Two months is not a long time to be looking for the right piece of property.

I hope it all comes together for you. Best of luck...

Post on craigslist instead of just looking. Also, contact your local county SPCA or animal control and ask them for help.
