Science will almost certainly prove that life is common in the universe, that intelligent life exists on other earth-like planets, will control human evolution, and hopefully will prove whether the universe was created or otherwise, although the chances of any God being involved are remote.

Hopefully science will provide proof that God doesn’t exist and the universe contains an abundance of intelligent life-forms, then finally humans may come to their senses and stop killing each other in the name of God or religion.

What do you think religion will prove?

Francis Bacon, the famous philosopher, has rightly said that a little knowledge of science makes man an atheist, but an in-depth study of science makes him a believer in God. Scientists today are eliminating models of God, but they are not eliminating God. If you translate this into Arabic, it is La illaha illal la, There is no god, (god with a small ‘g’ that is fake god) but God (with a capital ‘G’).

QUR’AN AND MODERN SCIENCE

The methods of proving the existence of God with usage of the material provided in the ‘Concept of God in Islam’ to an atheist may satisfy some but not all.

Many atheists demand a scientific proof for the existence of God. I agree that today is the age of science and technology. Let us use scientific knowledge to kill two birds with one stone, i.e. to prove the existence of God and simultaneously prove that the Qur’an is a revelation of God.

If a new object or a machine, which no one in the world has ever seen or heard of before, is shown to an atheist or any person and then a question is asked, " Who is the first person who will be able to provide details of the mechanism of this unknown object? After little bit of thinking, he will reply, ‘the creator of that object.’ Some may say ‘the producer’ while others may say ‘the manufacturer.’ What ever answer the person gives, keep it in your mind, the answer will always be either the creator, the producer, the manufacturer or some what of the same meaning, i.e. the person who has made it or created it. Don’t grapple with words, whatever answer he gives, the meaning will be same, therefor accept it.

THEORY OF PROBABILITY

In mathematics there is a theory known as ‘Theory of Probability’. If you have two options, out of which one is right, and one is wrong, the chances that you will chose the right one is half, i.e. one out of the two will be correct. You have 50% chances of being correct. Similarly if you toss a coin the chances that your guess will be correct is 50% (1 out of 2) i.e. 1/2. If you toss a coin the second time, the chances that you will be correct in the second toss is again 50% i.e. half. But the chances that you will be correct in both the tosses is half multiplied by half (1/2 x 1/2) which is equal to 1/4 i.e. 50% of 50% which is equal to 25%. If you toss a coin the third time, chances that you will be correct all three times is (1/2 x 1/2 x 1/2) that is 1/8 or 50% of 50% of 50% that is 12½%.

A dice has got six sides. If you throw a dice and guess any number between 1 to 6, the chances that your guess will be correct is 1/6. If you throw the dice the second time, the chances that your guess will be correct in both the throws is (1/6 x 1/6) which is equal to 1/36. If you throw the dice the third time, the chances that all your three guesses are correct is (1/6 x 1/6 x 1/6) is equal to 1/216 that is less than 0.5 %.

Let us apply this theory of probability to the Qur’an, and assume that a person has guessed all the information that is mentioned in the Qur’an which was unknown at that time. Let us discuss the probability of all the guesses being simultaneously correct.

At the time when the Qur’an was revealed, people thought the world was flat, there are several other options for the shape of the earth. It could be triangular, it could be quadrangular, pentagonal, hexagonal, heptagonal, octagonal, spherical, etc. Lets assume there are about 30 different options for the shape of the earth. The Qur’an rightly says it is spherical, if it was a guess the chances of the guess being correct is 1/30.

The light of the moon can be its own light or a reflected light. The Qur’an rightly says it is a reflected light. If it is a guess, the chances that it will be correct is 1/2 and the probability that both the guesses i.e the earth is spherical and the light of the moon is reflected light is 1/30 x 1/2 = 1/60.

Further, the Qur’an also mentions every living thing is made of water. Every living thing can be made up of either wood, stone, copper, aluminum, steel, silver, gold, oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen, oil, water, cement, concrete, etc. The options are say about 10,000. The Qur’an rightly says that everything is made up of water. If it is a guess, the chances that it will be correct is 1/10,000 and the probability of all the three guesses i.e. the earth is spherical, light of moon is reflected light and everything is created from water being correct is 1/30 x 1/2 x 1/10,000 = 1/60,000 which is equal to about .0017%.

The Qur’an speaks about hundreds of things that were not known to men at the time of its revelation. Only in three options the result is .0017%. I leave it upto you, to work out the probability if all the hundreds of the unknown facts were guesses, the chances of all of them being correct guesses simultaneously and there being not a single wrong guess. It is beyond human capacity to make all correct guesses without a single mistake, which itself is sufficient to prove to a logical person that the origin of the Qur’an is Divine.

CREATOR IS THE AUTHOR OF THE QUR’AN

The only logical answer to the question as to who could have mentioned all these scientific facts 1400 years ago before they were discovered, is exactly the same answer initially given by the atheist or any person, to the question who will be the first person who will be able to tell the mechanism of the unknown object. It is the ‘CREATOR’, the producer, the Manufacturer of the whole universe and its contents. In the English language He is ‘God’, or more appropriate in the Arabic language, ‘ALLAH’.

Since you are asking what we think, there should be no judging or criticizing by anyone who thinks anothers answer is incorrect. No answers should be considered wrong, as that's what the individual believes.

my personal opinion, is that 100 years from now neither religion or science will prove that God does or Doesn't exist. The misconception of the difference between religion and science is that they are the same, when in fact they are not. Though some who believe religion more than they believe science feel that they should be compared.

Religion is an organized FAITH based syatem.

Science is an organized system of basically testing theories against that which is within our physical world.

Neither one of these systems can 100% define the other, though there are some who have tried, but the ONLY consclusion that can be determined by this method is purely Theory.

Whether God exists is not really a basis to judge your fellow man, as even religion believes that God has not 100% proved beyond a shadow of a doubt to EVERYONE that he does.

Human beings kill one another because of a lack of belief in respect for others besides themselves. That's the simple truth everyone can agree upon. Those who use religion to warant the killing of anyone is not a believer of God in the first place, they are just using God's name to their own advantage to undermine someone elses life for their own gain.

So, to answer you question of "What do you think religion will prove?"
it's simple, Religion does not have to prove anything, as it is not a system for proving anything.

and Science does not have the full capacity to prove religion because of the limits of the physical wolrd. They test physical against physical to get a physical reaction. anything else is theory, thus not proven 100%.

To understand that answer, you must first understand the definition of Faith and Science of which both are relevant to Belief in one or the other, or a little of both.

That's Science-Fiction man, not Science. Science will NEVER control human evolution. We may figure out ways to weed out or even correct some genetic defects. We may be able to observe aggregate changes over time and make broad predictions on how we may end up in a future time, but we will NEVER control evolution.

As far as proving intelligent life in 100 years... possible, but not very probable. The universe is a very vast expanse. We haven't even sent a man to the next planet, in 100 years we'd be lucky if we've been able to explore any farther than mars. We may be able to locate near by* planets with earth like attributes, but finding intelligent life on them would be quite a feat.

It's impossible for the universe to have been "created." That's pretty much been ruled out as an option.

People will never give up religion. It's unfortunate, but true. However, religion will prove nothing other than people are easily fooled and controled. Any system that is unable to adapt over time will surely fail to something else eventually. I don't expect that something else to be any better though.

*not in explorable range, but observable.

Religion will prove that multitudes of people will never be strong enough or knowledgeable enough to grow faith. I expect to see the religion movement go to such extremes that it is about like belonging to a club, a civic club or like the Lions club. There will only be very few who will have enough knowledge to know what God wants from them.

Additionally, religion will prove that people will trust science more than any other thing in the world.

Also, religion will prove how inconsistant people really will be, how hypocritical they are, and how quickly they will relent from a vow or promise when the "water gets hot."

I rather first laugh before answering your question . Firstly why it is necessary to separate god from science is god not educated enough or god is quite primitive kind of guy who dosen,t understand e=m c2
I might agree religion should be separated from science and god as definitely all religion are proved powerless and their teachings turn futile.
look at the old pictures of deities in India where you have these deities decorated with ornaments and silk dresses if you have an human who have such Strong dress code what could have not been in that society 5000 years before . these deities dosent worship any one but their lifestyle is followed by over billion plus in India still today and they are consider worship worthy

Reason is simple they had strong and well defined value based ethical rules of conduct. and these civilization was consider to be much advance then today's society . So what we will be like after 100 years i wish as advance as Aryans.deities.

The reason for the rapid spread of Islam was the attraction that the thinking people developed towards an ideal free from superstition upholding the worship of the ‘One and Only God’, the Creator and the pursuit of His messengers. It was only natural for those thinking people to be drawn to the practice of a faith that sought the path of ‘surrender to God’, at a time when their perceptions were fogged by false deities, and their agents who posed as priests. The ideal of ‘One God, one humanity’, simultaneously put forth by Islam, uproots the parochial beliefs put up in the name of ones birth. The access to the message of ‘one humanity’ experienced by those who were being oppressed in the name of religion and caste, further led to the propagation of Islam. The selfless and sincere lives led by Muslims who migrated different parts of the world for business purposes and the like, also drew the people of those countries to Islam.

To this day, Islam, which occupies the mind of man though manifold noble ways, continues to influence the thoughts and deeds of millions of peoples in all continents around the world, with its sterling ideals.

I don't think science will prove there isn't a "God" so much as the evidence will prove that A) Humans aren't "chosen" above all other lifeforms B) Those stories in the books got only one thing correct, there is a Higher power and C) The purpose that drives that Higher Power is one that we can't even begin to understand.

The Bible deals with life on Earth. Who's to say if God has already created an Earth II? I don't think anyone can prove there isn't a God, just like no one can prove there is a God.

Religion, as it is today, will all but disappear except among a handful of cultish freaks. The concept of God as we know it will fade away as organized religions disappear and go bankrupt and churches, temples, mosques etc. lie empty or turn into condos and other mixed uses...
