Many municipalities have the names of all the inmates listed on-line. If yours doesn't check your local governments website for phone numbers of both the county and the city jail and call and find out.

Well there should be a website. In your search engine, type in "inmate information (followed by your town or city)" from there, you should be able to find the charges and booking number.

Actually, the best way to do it is to contact the booking desk at your local county jail, they can look it up for you.

Check your local newspaper, usually within two days they will have arrests listed.

Call someone who keeps tabs on your friend. They also list it in the paper.

do you have his number or e-mail? call him or his parents/family to find out where he is. if not you can ask the police.
