Hangover Remedy, Cure for Hangovers
There are two main contributors to a hangover:
1. Dehydration

2. The Chemical Acetylaldehyde

The first and easiest way to help relieve a hangover is to get rid of the dehydration caused by alcohol (which is a diurectic) and drink at least an 8 ounce glass of water before bedtime. The second hangover remedy is to use vitamins and supplements to rid your body of acetylaldhyde.

Vitamins and Supplements that will help your body counteract the poisonous effects of the alcohol byproduct acetylaldehyde (which causes nausea, fatigue, and headaches) are:
1.Vitamin C can counteract the effects of acetylaldehyde by at least half. Take 1000 mg before bed and 2000 mg when you wake up. Buffered Vitamin c will work the best especially with a senitive stomach.

2.The amino acid L-Methionine is used in the detoxification of acetylaldehyde.Take 1000-300 mg at bedtime

3.Nicotinamide or Niacinamide (NOT niacin) can help you regain you energy which acetylaldehyde takes away by interfering with the Krebs Cycle (a main way your body supplies itself with energy). Take 250-500 milligrams when you wake up the next morning.

To avoid a hangover, alternate a glass of water in between cocktails/beer & eat/snack constantly. To be doubly sure, you don't have a hangover the next day, make sure you get enough sleep - take an Ambien, but not 'till you're in bed! If that doesn't work, a bacon, egg & cheese omlet on a bun with a large stack of hashbrowns won't hurt.

Drink as much water as possible. This flushes out the alcohol, and re-hydrates your body.

A good way to avoid the hangover if you know you are going to drink loads is to take two vitamin b tablets before drinking, 2 during the session, and if you can remember, two before you go to bed.

Alcohol depletes the body of vitamin b which contributes a great deal towards the hangover. It's a pain to be popping tablets all night, your mates will suspect you are a junky, but it actually works.

Time is the only thing that really cures a hangover. You can try that drug store stuff like Chaser. If you don't have that, drink lots of Gatorade or other sports drinks. Hangovers are caused by dehydration (alcohol dehydrates the body) and the sports drinks replinish fluids to the body faster than just water.

I avoid hangovers entirely by drinking at least a liter of water an hour or so before drinking alcoholic beverages. Never had a hangover yet:)

Sleep it off, big glasses of water help if you can keep them down. Hangovers are caused by a loss of water in the fluid around the brain, so there's really no way to cure it. Just give it time.

Simple...

There is a miracle drug you can get from boots/Superdrug called 'R U 21'. The aim is to match 1 with every drink you drink when you go out, and your hangover will never occur in the first place...

...in reality matching 1 with every drink is hard. 1 every 3-4 works.

Any mother will tell you to drink a pint of water for every pint you've drunk. But who fancies drinking 15 pints of water when they get in?!

I was deeply sceptical about R U 21's, but they are my saviour!

answered this question before on here !

basicly in my experience you need to feed a hangover.

eat whatever you can keep down and drink flat coke.

at the moment my hangover cure is a corned beef sandwich. not sure why this works but i think it replaces the salt that you loose through dehydration.

i swear i feel like i've answered this question on yahoo answers before.

in my experience, first, eat something greasy before you go out drinking. (it helps coat your stomach.)

before i go to bed, i always take two advil, two nature made vitamin E 200 i.u. supplements (they're really small and they slide down really easy), and a large glass of orange juice.

then i take a large glass filled with ice, and just a little water to bed with me so as the ice melts, i can drink ice cold water all night, without having to get up.

i wake up just fine in the morning. haven't had a hangover in the last 8-9 years. (and because of the vitamin E supplement, my hair and skin look great. you can't tell at all that i've had a long night of drinking behind me at all.)
