im try to play some file i've down loaded and they want to get licensce keys through my windows media player but i dont want to do it that way especaly as it mostly pastword protected or wants me to join a site

That's one dodgy way they started. Just forget about the files. The best way is to give them their own medicine by unlocking them ...... not allowed to say how. :)

Dont join any site.
Probably a virus.
I've had the same problem, and when I went to the site, it loaded obscene bookmarks in my browser, and changed the homepage!
Still dont know how to play those videos though :-(

the files are encrypted for a reason

to make the encryptor money usually

i presume we are talking file sharing here as if it was a legal download you would know how to view as instructions would be on the download site

either pay up or get legal...lol
