The name of the gang is the "cribs" and they all carry water guns and wear blue T-shirts. Verrrrry suspicious. I suspect that they may have been involved in the neighborhood toilet-papering incident. But what's a mother to do???

Go for it! And while you are at it, go down to the local pawn shop and buy them all a few oozies and Ak's. We all need more 5 year olds shooting eachother.

From past answers to your question, it is unanimous that you should seek custody and get legal advice. I agree, but first of all, get legal evidence/facts on your parents' behavior. I assume you are over 21, live in a stable environment, and have the financial means to provide a good home for your brother. This doesn't mean you have to be rich, because I'm sure the judge will order your parents to pay some sort of child support to you, if you are appointed his legal guardian. The judge will look at all these facts before coming to a decision. Good luck. It sounds as though he would be much better off with a loving sibling than with his parents.

Definitely not. If he's in a gang now, he will be in jail by the time he's a teenager. It would be absolutely insane to allow your child to join a gang, no matter how harmless they may be (at least for now, who knows about later...). Why don't you get him into a play group, little league sport, or music lessons? He can then use all that energy, 5 yr old boys have, for something positve, that he will enjoy and make a ton of friends in.

You can't really be thinking about letting your child join a gang even one like this which is harmless. What kind of message is that going to send to your child. If they toilet papered something imagne when they get other. Having guns, real ones. You might think it can't happen to you or your child or in your neighborhood. but it can. Promoting gangs and the violence that comes with it isn't what you shouldn't be teaching any kid at any age.

personally, I'd say no. First it's water guns, then it's BB guns and dead birds, and what's after that? You decide. Do you want his gang to be the major influence in his life? or will that responsibility fall on YOUR sholders? Or how about calling it a "club" instead of a "gang"--not so harsh, and doesn't imply that the boys are necessarily bad kids. It all boils down to "who's in charge"? you or the neighbor kids?

ARE YOU FREAKING INSANE? That is like letting your child play in the middle of a busy intersection. Toys or not, you never know what it could turn into down the road. Especially if you suspect these kids of toilet papering the homes. Wake up...

STEP UP- are you for real?
NO is the answer and what are you thinking>>>>>

A five year should NOT be outside with out you anyway. We call that neglect or child endangerment where I come from.... hope CPS isn't around you.

I hope this was a joke question- if your for real- please seek professional help and take responsibility for your actions and that of the child your created. You need better parenting skills.

I REALLY hope this is a joke, because any parent who allows their child to think joining a gang is a good idea, hasn't done their job as a parent.

Who has never wanted to be in a gang of some sort? Nothing to worry about because it's only normal that he wants to be accepted by his peers.
