I consider myself to be a witch - ecclectic and monotheistic, but a witch. The thing that brought be to the craft is feeling spiritually bereft within the Christian church. The Bible demeaned me for my gender, the basis of the religion seemed silly and illogical to me and i found that other means of worship made me feel closer to God. My spiritual path was dictated by the failings of Christianity, not by the persuasive powers of a childrens' books, some mythical devil, or anything other than the fact that this form of worship was satisfying to me in a way Christianity was not.

I was well on my way to becoming a Christian pastor when I had an encounter with the Goddess. It totally blew my mind. After that Christianity seems rather hollow, shallow and boring.

Celebrating true unconditional love was the real driving force behind the shift. The Goddess doesn’t care if your theology is right, where or not you recognize her, what cloths you wear, or even what species you are. She loves all beings, period, end of story.

Depends on your definition of witch. I don't wear symbols or use "spells" for anything... but a lot of what I believe would be considered Witchy. I was raised by a Christian mother and an Agnostic father... both of which did not push me into any religion. Actually, it was hardly ever spoken about unless I asked outright. So I got to check out any religion I wanted to. I started in Christianity, but ended up feeling ostracized because of my questions and the way I stated my own beliefs (opinions). I went to Wicca for a while, but found it to be just as choked as most mainstream religions. I am "eclectic" in the sense that I don't follow any particular Pagan path, yet I am Pagan. I'm not sure I would say monotheistic, as I believe many different "Spirits" exist. I have to agree with you on feeling closer to the Spirit "world" (that sounds so corny) since I came to this path. Where as going to Church was more about going thru the motions and making it look good so no one else would start questioning your faith. I never really believed in the "devil"... not even as a young child and being told by my uncle that the devil would surely get me unless I believed in Jesus.

Life experiences are our paths. ^_^

I came to my beliefs because I was a christian went to church ALL the time and even tried diffrent churches. I always felt they were cold. I also did not believe in everything they preach.

My grandma does not have much income but yet she will tide 10% of what she has to church because that is what she told that christians are suppost to do.

I do not think that you have to have a church nor do I believe that you half to tide your money

I found so much comfort and happiness from believing in a goddess and a gods. I feel closer to them when I sit in the woods and hear all the sounds. I never felt close to jesus sitting on a hard bench listening to some man teach about jesus. I am comforted by those sounds more so than somebody preaching to me.

And I am a witch it felt natural to be one. I also do not need people to IM nor emailing me telling me that it is the wrong path and satan is making me believe this. I do not believe in satan...and they will not convert me.

There are just to many diffrent religions and I believe we have to find what is right for us. And I am respect the fact that other's believe diffrently..That is what makes us human.

Blessed Be

My sister brought the Wiccan faith to light. My mother is a christian minister. I was turned off of the Christian faith because there is a distinct lack of balance in the faith. I am a firm beliver in balance in everything, and in karma. The Wiccan path includes balance. Contrary to popular belief, not all Wiccans are man hating, women's lib, lesbians. No offence to those who fall into that category, to each his own. I am a witch, but I prefer the term Pagan. I follow the Wiccan spiritual path, but try to lead a life based on Taoism, in the sense that there must be balance. My sister first left the church, and I followed a few years later.

I have sort of a similar background, but with a twist...I was Christian, tried Pagan religions for a couple of years, Agnostic, and finally (after lots and lots of research dealing with philosophy, religion, and science) I became an atheist :) But its funny how so many Christians flip out when they meet someone who doesn't believe the same, however many never even follow their own religious teachings, as dictated by the bible.

my pastor told me people who have never heard of Jesus due to timeline issues born before jesus, or seperated by an ocean, Native Americans were doomed to suffer in hell for ever. I strarted looking for other beliefs and I found paganism, I still consider my self some what christian, i just dont holdmuch stock to the bible, I think Jesus was pitching a belief, not a religion.

Christianity is not based of what you feel it can satisfy you - be careful calling yourself witch - this is for you and all that proclaim themselves witches - cuz you guys don't know who's behind it- make a 180degrees turn in your life and seek God thru Jesus - you'll be delivered - and then what you thought it was a good way you'll talk to others to get out of it. cuz is a perdition for eternity.

perhaps you mean wiccan?

or do you dress up in halloween garb?

christianity created the "evil witches" when non-believers were being oppressed!

Satan worship is the spawn of christianity. Little to do with wiccan
