Has anyone ever experienced numbness in arms/legs/stomach??

I woke up Monday and my hand was numb but tingly. I thought I had probably slept on it and it would go away. But, it didn't. As the day went on, the numbness/tingliness moved into my arm, other arm and even my stomach. Basically, I have this feeling from my shoulders to my waste. About a year ago, my left leg went numb from my hip to my toes. My doctor said it was "probably the cyatic (sp.) nerve". I know I need to go to the doctor for this, and am calling tomorrow for an appt only because they aren't open today. But I was just wondering if anyone had ever had the same thing(s) and if so what they were told it was.

a chiropractor solved similar problem for me.....make sure you go to a reputable dr. and that he does x-rays first
