My 5 1/2 just came home and broke down, which is not the normal end of the day. I know its a new environment and new changes and over stimulating at times, but she's been in pre-school since 1 1/2 yrs old and been in a school readiness program, but the last two days she has come home and as soon as I walk in the door it's just a crying fit. I've been just letting her get it out. Any suggestions? To make it easier on her.

Just stick to it...she will get use to it! You are a good mo for just letting her be her. With my son this went on for awhile. Just talk to her teacher maybe she can give ur child some speacil attention or get her involed in a project that ur child will be excited about! Good luck...

My daughter is the same way. We started putting her to bed earlier and the night before we put out her clothes and discuss what she will have for lunch the next day. This way she can have a good night sleep, no worries and we don't have a hectic morning and since then she seems to do better

Make sure that she is getting plenty of rest. No staying up late. If children are over tired from not enough sleep, they will act up to stay awake. Also, try to be on a pretty steady schedule. That helps also. I would have her to lay down for a little bit after school. Not to sleep, but just to rest.

Does she eat lunch at school? Does she get enough protein in her lunch? Does she get a good protein snack as soon as she gets home? If she is getting tired then this can help.

What kind of things is she crying about? Missing you? Things other kids have said or done? Frustration with things she's trying to learn? Knowing what is upsetting her would help.

Talk to her about it. There may be something that is really bothering her and she might want to talk about it. Also, preschool at 1 1/2? What ever happened to being a baby?
