Churchs fight for non profit statis and freedom from government involvement in the service, but they try to make other people from different walks of life live by their standards, gays, alcohol, etc while they can't even worship in the same building together as different denominations,If they can't agree down here on earth! how will they get along in heaven?Do gays march on christian concerts and screem through mega phones. maybe laws should be passed for this to happen at their events.I know a baptist pastor who preaches against gays, while his gay son living in hawaii pays his mortgage. Why can't christians Focus on their own families. their reward is in heaven stop trying to make the earth which will pass away your earthly reward, only those who really want your beliefs will accept them.isn't there more child molesting going on in the church, and what is the stigma with preachers kids?and how there more wild (some of them) live and let live the choice is ours. hatred to us earns zip....

And why can't people understand that broad generalizations are wrong for all walks of life.

Do all men behave the same way, Do all women act the same, believe the same? What about the nasty generalizations made about different races. They are wrong. Just as saying all Christians, or athesist act the same way is wrong.

I am a Christian, nothing will change that, but I would never do any of the above you mentioned, nor would those people I associate with in my church. I believe that kind of behavior hurts Christianity rather than promotes it. I wish they would stop! I truly do.

But please know, that all Christians are not zealots. You are right, those that choose this way of life, will do so. We cannot drag someone kicking and screaming to the altar of Christianity. And we shouldn't

But please remember we are not all idiots.

Basically you think we shouldn't try to influence lawmakers to make moral laws? The Bible gives the laws and rules it does bc they are best for living a safe and happy life. You mention homosexuals a few times. The fact is, homosexual behavior isn't ok, only about 3% are monogamous, and most of them have had dozens, if not hundreds of partners in their lifetime. Why shouldn't we speak out against that? Their behavior spreads STDs, so speaking against it is for their own benefit.

You're basically saying that Christians should allow everyone else to ignore the wisdom of God and legislate whatever they desire, even if it's not the best thing in the long run or causes unrecognized pain to someone. That wouldn't be loving of us at all. If we love you, as Christ commands, then we need to try to influence the laws to keep you safe from lack of wisdom. The fact is, I've seen that many nonChristians don't have wisdom, they don't understand things and how they affect their lives. That may seem to be an incorrect statement, but it isn't. By forcing you to obey wisdom, your life will be better.

Russell Crowe in Gladiator said "what we do in life, echoes in eternity" It's true, the Romans affect me every time I speak spanish (a Romance language). So the morals and laws of society affect me. You say I shouldn't try to influence laws, well then neither should homosexuals or abortionists or anyone else. What you do will eventually affect everyone else. Just like the Romans affect us today.

Bravo! Religion absolutely does not belong in the law. Bush is America's Taliban leader! This country was founded on the separation of church and state. If you don't agree with gay marriage, than don't marry one. Otherwise, it is none of your business. Oh that just enrages me. The religious lobby in this country is afforded its extreme power because our legislators allow it. Any religion, or no religion, or no belief at all, is a personal choice and must be respected.

You have lost the big picture it's called democracy.
Every person has the right/privilege to vote on issues that concerns them and their "private world"
You asked about gays..Of course they do! They march and disrupt church services (Act-Up)
No there is More child abuse outside the church then inside!

Speaking of forcing others why are the atheist forcing prayer out of school school events and other activities.

I agree completely with you! What pi$$es me off the most are these boycotts they lead. So WHAT if a Christian family doesn't want to watch the SHIELD? Then DON'T! You have control ofver your hosue and your children. Just because you feel it is inappropriate with yourlifestyle, you do not have the right to try and prevent me from watching it. Or from supporting Disney because they support Gays, or anyother of the issues they like to protest about.

On the contrary, I think it's the damn liberals who want to make everyone live THEIR way. If you're gay, fine, but don't make me listen to your crap about marriage and rights. If you're for abortion, fine--get one. But don't tell me about it. If people would quit airing their dirty laundry to the world and expecting approval for it, we'd all get along better.

Y E SSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!! I loved your question!!! I agree totally. It's called being "Holier Than Thou." Most of these people think they can do and say what ever they want and it can somehow be justified because they are "Christians". Big deal. Sweep your own porch before you tell me how to sweep mine!
