Leviticus 20.19-20.21 It says if a man has sex with his uncle's wife neither will be able to have children. It also says if a man takes his brothers wife, they will die childless. I'm sure if someone were to look they would find many cases in the course of human history where someone has had a child with their aunt or someone has had children with his brothers wife. Wouldn't you think?

Ok so why does old testament law about things like homosexuality still apply to us if it wasn't literal or was only for that one group of people? I don't seem to remember Christ spouting off about gays, I thought he was the one who preached helping others and not judging? Or do I have it backwards?

You ought to be ashamed of yourself. Let God handle the things you dont understand,

Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

Leviticus 20:19-21 And thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy mother's sister, nor of thy father's sister: for he uncovereth his near kin: they shall bear their iniquity.

This scripture above means that they will have to pay for that sin generation after generation.

20 And if a man shall lie with his uncle's wife, he hath uncovered his uncle's nakedness: they shall bear their sin; they shall die childless.

21 And if a man shall take his brother's wife, it is an unclean thing: he hath uncovered his brother's nakedness; they shall be childless.

Did it ever occur to you that even if they had children, that perhaps their children may not live a long life and die before their parents did? That would make the parents childless. To loose a child is more painful than never to concieve one. Instead of looking for what you think are contradictions in the bible, which there are none, try to read it and grow from it and trust in God that He will do all that is right.

It sounds like this is part of the Jewish Law admininstration. If you accept Jesus as your personel savior then sin is forgiven and put into the "Forgetful Seas", never to be remembered. If you stay in the sinful nature you are automatically under the curse of Abraham and If you were to check historically then you will find God's word to always be true. It is important to rightly divide the Word of God and that is impossible without His Spirit in You. All scripture if for you but must be interpeted in the spirit it was written, and who and when it was written to, and to what mindset it was aimed. The mindset of the born again person preceives differently then the natural mind does. Until Jesus made the Spirit of God avalible to us again, humans were not able to be in fellowship the same way as the reborn spirit is.

The bible is just a story book. By the time the stories were written down the wording and moral of some (MOST) were forever altered. So it doesn't matter what the bible says, it's just a book.

It is talking about dying without an heir. (Look up the original Hebrew words). Children resulting from such unions were unable to inherit property and so it past to other family memebers and the people involved would not have an heirs.

Lev 20:20 -
They shall die childless - Either the offspring should not be regarded as lawfully theirs, nor be entitled to any hereditary privileges, or they should have no blessing in their children.

20If a man lies with his uncle's wife, he has uncovered his uncle's nakedness; they shall bear their sin; they shall die childless. 21If a man takes his brother's wife, it is impurity.[b] He has uncovered his brother's nakedness; they shall be childless.

this is written to a covenant community, Israel
God can work differently in that case and here may be pronouncing a curse that such a couple will never have children

not a contradiction, you are taking it as if God cannot act

Levitical Laws were made Null and Void by JESUS.

I can see no reason for this study unless it is to PROVE something.

Who know what happened genetically then? People also lived for hundreds of years -things got changed!

I believe, that this was written by the powers that be at the time so that people would have unatainable standards to live up to and also so they would be confused and not have time to think for themselves about other things.

You don't need to figure up excuses for living the sinful life you obviously want to,That's your choice but I would suggest if that's your decision you might want to figure up ways to enjoy pain, agony and suffering so you'll have a more pleasant time when you arrive at your destination.Good Luck.

Levitican law is only for the Jews. The rest of us can apparently have relationships with any in-law we want. Maybe that's why you don't see so many Jewish hillbillies.
