The Good...
Dentistry is a well-paid and secure career.
Working in dentistry is a valuable and useful public service.
The Dentaid organisation does a wonderful job around the world:

The biggest buzz is the personal satisfaction you gain from contributing to someone else's self esteem through perfecting their smile.

The Bad...
Dentists often work long hours and weekends.

And the Ugly...
Many people view a visit to the dentist as a negative and unpleasant experience.
Looking down unhealthy mouths isn't that bad as your challenge is to fix the problems. Things could be worse... you could become a Gynaecologist?!

Good points are that you would be providing a much-neede service in the UK, if you chose to work for the NHS. You would help to make people healthier and relieve pain. You would also earn more money than most other jobs and be regarded as a professional.

Bad points are having to cram in too many patients if working for the NHS, dealing with people whose pain may mke them irate or annoyed with you because they are unable to get an appointment when they want it.

The good thing is that you get paid lots of money.

On the down side, you have to look into peoples mouthes all day long. Imagine all those with Halitosis.
