You go into a house and you see brand new 1500$ laptop or $2000 cash. you do some homework and you know no one will find out. Why you should not steal it (Unless you are a believer and u know god sees you)? But if we leave faith out of it, why shouldn't U steal? Please give answers w/ logical backing.

I don't steal because someone worked very hard to earn money for the items and it may place a hardship on the victim. If one steals then the universal pay back is that the one who does this will lose his possessions three times over. The more I give:the more I receive. The more I take; the more I lose. Inflicting sadness on another person will in turn bring sadness to you. Remember the pain you felt when someone stole from you.I hope you learn from this and have a wonderful abundant life.

Well, I have always told my son "if you do something wrong and you think there is no one around to see you, I have news for you. Two people see you. God and yourself". Now you want me to leave God out of the equation.
Okay, now the only person who sees what you are doing is yourself. Bottom line: If you can justify your action who am I to tell you any differently?
How would you feel if you came home and found out someone had stolen something from you? If you are cool with someone stealing your stuff then I guess it's cool to steal from others, right?

Well if no ones going to find out and you got no morals then there is no reason why you should not, but we as human beings have given us unofficial rules about how to behave.
Take an example that we live in a smaller community if you steal from somebody, or if you do not return a favor, the the group will simply not like or accept you. and it is important for us as human beings to liked and accepted

You could steal it, and no one would find out. But: It would get around that someone had stolen an expensive laptop without getting caught, and a few others would start stealing. It might take a while, but eventually people would start to steal from you! What goes around comes around.
Also... stealing can become addictive. You might be safe this time, but what if you became addicted and tried to impulsivly grab something without considering it?

Would you want someone to steal from you? I don't steal because it's just not right, in my own eyes and mind. I wouldn't be able to live with myself, no matter if I was guaranteed not to get caught, if I stole something from another person. Trust is big with me and if I can't trust you, you are no longer a part of my life.

First, empathy for the person who would loose that property, both because of the work they probably did to get it, and the violation they feel for having it taken. Second, the effecton my state. Even the most hardened criminals have indicators of trauma from the acts they commit. It coarsens the feelings, and distorts ones ability to sense ones own or another persons emotional state. I personally would rather have internal harmony than wealth.

I do not believe in God and I have no fear of the police.
Yet I would never do that. What I do believe in is my ability as a human to live a moral life. To steal would be to betray myself. I cannot betray myself.
I don't know whether or not you find that logical.

Because there's no such thing as "you know no one will find out." The likelihood is that someone WILL find out and, depending on their temperament (and attachment to whatever you took) they may take it out on your hide. So, why shouldn't you steal? Because the consequences aren't worth it. Anyway, don't you have a conscience? I wouldn't be able to enjoy using something I stole, or spending stolen money.

It is not your property. Someone else worked and earned it. If everyone was to just take whatever they wanted from anyone else, there would be nothing produced, because no one would have incentive to work.
If it is OK to steal, then logically it is OK to use any force needed to protect your property. Anarchy would reign and we would shortly end up with no civilization!

There is most likely a mental disorder, spiritual disorder, and/or social disorder behind this type of person. This person may not have been taught to respect themselves &/or others. This person may have a personality disorder, such as narcisistic disorder, where they view themselves as superior to others & rules. They may just be evil and live to do wrong and not have a good moral conscience.
