I live in Austin, TX now, but I used to live in San Diego, CA, so I can tell you from personal experience that the climate in San Diego is way, way better than Austin. San Diego may be the best in the country.

I would tell you but then everyone would want to go there and then it would become overpopulated and polluted.

It is a place where there are rolling hills, trees, clear spring-fed streams. Summers get to 95 and winters get down to 20

that depends on what you like.
the consensus is socal, but with the smog, and social attitudes, socal sux for me.
paso robles area of cal coast is nice but it is still in cal.
as you go up the west coast the weather gets colder and rainier.
as you go across the southern part of the country the desert gets hot in the summer and winter is cold, then in mid texas the summer humidity gets bad
as you go north, (east of the rockies) humidity is the rule, and further north snow is consistant.
i like snow, i like the seasons, for me the missouri is just fine.
the humidity isn't as bad as texas or the east coast, the winters don't get real cold.
what is important to you?
