I hate it when someone use their own spoon or fork from the main pot or dish, don't you?

I generally use it. Though sometimes I skip it with people I am close with like family.

Eeew! Maybe we do things differently at my house. I serve up the food in the kitchen, then carry the plates to the dining room. If someone wants seconds, they can go get them in the kitchen, and the serving spoon is already in the dish. This almost never happens (getting seconds, I mean) because I've been dishing up the food for a long time, so I have a pretty good idea how much everyone eats. Plus, I ask them, "How hungry are you?" LOL Helps with situations like yours.

Well, if their own spoon or fork is clean, then I don't mind.

Well there are only two of us at home anymore :-( our daughter moved to college this fall. Joe can eat right out of the pan and it wouldn't bother me!
