Basically Americans just have very convoluted ideas about nudity and acceptable behavior. Breastfeeding is natural and not something anyone should have to hide from. Covered or uncovered breasts are not an object of evil and children from the time they are infants know what they are. Be free, be yourself and live well.

I don't have any problem with it. I think it's beautiful, and that the woman is a very, very smart, loving, caring mom.
I'm not putting down any mom who formula feeds, because I'm a formula feeding mom. I wasn't able to breastfeed for a varity of reasons.
I also get a little jealous when I see women breastfeeding.

I don't think there is a problem either! I always find people being offended by humanness to be very strange (ESPECIALLY if the mother is covered well).
I fed both of my children breast milk for a solid year each...and so glad I did. They have been very healthy! I have a friend who is feeding with a bottle currently and the cost is SO HIGH, and the baby is having trouble with it. She has already had to change formulas three times!

i'm also a breastfeeding mom and that i do frequently might want to realize this in public (my daughter does no longer take a bottle). i trust the area is that breasts have develop into such sexualized gadgets that they are literally taboo. I in my opinion assume it is stupid, contained in the authentic breastfeeding is utilising breasts for his or her meant reason! That being reported, on condition that this prudishness and fetishization exists in our cutting-edge society it truly is kind of abnormal for a lady to very truly "whip it out" in public and that i have always used a cover to maintain my privateness (besides the undeniable fact that i assume that's in view that the i have been conditioned to assume ashamed). That being suggested, i do not get the significant situation with the Angelina Jolie pictures. they're tasteful and also you word no more desirable of her breast than you do of the Virgin Mary's in various %. of her breastfeeding Jesus. back, I evaluate that's more desirable an oversexualization and objectification of ladies people that creates this seize 22 situation.

I'm not, as long as they are appropriately covered. The poor baby needs to eat too and it isn't like most restrooms have a comfortable place for you to sit out of the way from the public.

No, I think its precious. I'm not offended when a baby needs to eat :-) Now that I think of it I'm not offended by a bottle either. (can you imagine?) I breastfed my son, and will my daughter, and only had one person treat me rudely the entire time. I would hope that most people are educated enough to see what a necessity it is. Also just one more thing...people who stare and are offended and find it gross or sexual have serious issues. Its my belief that they are the offencive ones. Why are you staring? If it bothers you don't watch. I believe its only a handful of perverts who see it as wrong.

I am not offended, in fact it warms my heart to see them sharing such a loving bond. If I happen to catch the mom's eye I smile encouragingly to let her know I approve.
I breastfed both my kids in public and I never once was approached by anyone telling me it was wrong. Even if I wanted to give them a bottle neither would take one and I refuse to be isolated to a dirty bathroom to feed the most precious people in my life.
I always tell timid moms to breastfeed in front of Victoria Secrets. :-)

I'm not offended at all. I dont really see what some people are. I have never seen anyone just leave themselves uncovered in public while breastfeeding. I would say that pretty much all women are very discrete about it. I think if they are being respectful of others then others should be respectful of them.

I have breastfed in public. Once we went to Red Lobster for my birthday and I had to nurse my daughter. I was covered up and in a booth, the best privacy you can get in a resturaunt. A man on the other side of the room sat and glared at me through the whole meal. The funny thing was that he had to turn his head to see me, and the baby wasn't being noisy and drawing attention. I don't get why people are so against letting us feed our children in public. We're not hurting anyone and we are doing what we see best for our babies.

I was not offended and my wife did it right out in the open. Not even covered up! I think it is fine to breastfeed in public.
