Why is it that when you go to a clam bar and ask for a dozen clams, they only give you 10 or 11, I can't remember, but I know they dont give you 12.

I've always gotten at least 12 when I order a dozen. Every so often, I get 13! :-)

I think they just miscounted on yours. But that's also why I always count them first thing when I get them too! I just love clams too much to give one back to the house!

Because by giving customers fewer clams, they are able to serve more people with the same number of clams and make more money.
