How did you choose the name for your child?

And by the way, I'm not naming my kid or anything, just wondering.

I Named My Child After My Three Sisters: Jennifer, Annie Kate, and Eve. I Named Her Also Because We Have A Lot Of Kay's, Kate's, And Katie's On My Mom's Side, And My Grandmother Loved The Idea And She Means A Lot To Me. I Also Did It Because She Can Come Up With A Lot Of Nick Names: Kay, Kayden, Kay De Ence, Kaydie, Katie, Kate, Jen, Jennie, Eve, Etc. In Case She Doesn't Like It When She Gets Older, And Because It's Unique And Different. Plus It Means Music, Which I Love and Hopefully She Will Too. My World Without Her Would Not Be Complete And My World Without Music Wouldn't Be Either.

Her Name Is Kaydence Genevieve
And She Is The Greatest Gift Ever!!!

Her dad and I didn't seem to agree on anything, so we both made a list of names that we each liked, and compared them. There was only 1 name on the list that we both agreed on.

Personally, I feel a child should have their own personality, not reliant on someone else's actions - current, past or present... not to mention the confusion of having another family member with the same name.

I have 2 boys, for my first son, I told my step kids (3 of them) to pick 10 names and I will pick one, I would pick the middle or fist name according to the name I picked from that list. For my 2nd son, I said the same to my husband. Do a list of the names you like and I will pick one and the middle or first name.

I named my daughter Cadence because it was beautiful and feminine and different. Her middle name is Marie, after my husband's sister, who took care of me during a very hard time in my life, before her brother and I ever got married.

I'm naming my son Rylan James because the first name is unique, and the middle name is carried on from his father.

It was kinda strange how her name came to me it a dream , I had already picked a name for her in a baby name book had it all figured out with middle name too ,and then I had the dream its almost like she told me what she wanted her name to be , At least that's what i would like to believe.

When my husband and I decided to have a child, the name came easy. Since I was five, I loved this name and my husband loved this other name. So we put it together.

See. the name for the kid should be lovable.when you call that name, really a lot of thought should come in the mind. hence don't hear what the astrology says, just hear the what your heart says then see success is yours, only yours.

My Mother and my Sister's' first names are Barbara. My mothers middle name is Carolyn. My Sister's middle name is Kae. So, I took their middle names, and named my daughter Carolyn Kae. I did the same for our son. The difference there is, my Brother and my husband's' middle names are the same - Earl. So, I took my Dad's middle name, Larry, and their middle name, and gave him the name Larry Earl. He died at two and a half months. But his name is in our family Bible.

My son is named after his Dad--but first name only (William) I chose the middle name Evan for him--its Welsh and means young warrior... I picked it because he used to kick the sh*t out of me for the last few months of pregnancy....I thought he was kickboxing in there! LOL
