Look around, some one created all the things. Or look your body, how complex and simple it is at the same time. Look at the women ho can give life to another human. We are surrounded by the power of God. So I believe in that.

For 20 years I had knee problems, 4 surgeries, multiple dislocations, 2 medical discharges from the Army because of my knees. I blew my left knee out in a softball tournament, and for the next three months, I never had a day without severe pain. The doctors said all that was left to was replacement but I was to young.I went to a meeting in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and had the pastors wife pray for me and I have not had a problem, or pain since, 9 years and going strong.
God took away the desire for drugs, alcohol, and cigarettes no doctors, no steps , instant deliverance from habits of 15 years and longer.
I have seen appendages grow back, people get out of wheel chairs, broken bones instantly healed, broken lives, and marriages put back together.
God has supplied finances in times of great need, and from unknown places.
With all this how could I ever believe different??

This question, or variants of it, come up quite often in here. I wonder why. After all, you place a caveat on us that states we cannot use the very thing that informs our faith, and then expect us to demonstrate why we believe.

Imagine an evolutionist being asked to scientifically defend evolution, but cannot use the fossil record or a science text. Would an evolutionist really be able to do that? Of course not, because the very thing that informs his worldview has been taken away.

If we didn't have the Bible to teach us God's word then we would have to continue the way it was originally done. The word of God was passed by word of mouth. Stories were memorized and relayed as a means of communication and education. It doesn't matter if I read it or hear it, for me I think it would have the same results. I believe in the eye witnessed aspects of the life of Jesus. Why would sane rational men go around spreading the news of Jesus and salvation while knowing fully that there actions will get them executed? Why didn't they simply blend in and hide? Because they saw the resurrected Jesus Christ! Knowing that they did not fear death.

An answer with the Bible to back it up doesn't mean as much. But I believe in God because there is evidence all around us. Just look around at things in nature. You cannot be satisfied with any answer for how that came to be except that a high being than ourselves planned and created it. I believe that He wants people to be saved because He is a forgiving God who offers grace and mercy to all who believe in Him. I believe that he cares about all the details of our lives because He knows us better than anyone else and He is the sustainer of His creations

You want evidence outside the Bible.. Ok ... I see creation it's complexity is so extensive that I can't believe it is a random accident. The fact that we are here alive when there is so much lifelessness in the universe leads me to believe. There is a natural law that states that in time organization tends to move toward disorganization. Here on this world the opposite happened it started disorganized and move toward organization.. This leads me to believe.. So here I am back to holding my faith not blindly but with reason... Jim

although i am not a christian i would like to answer anyway.
i am a pagan and i follow the Celtic religion.
i believe the way i do because after years of feeling alone spiritually and searching for something to fill a void i could not see but none the less could feel i found a path that made me feel whole.
it all made sense to me and help me to become a better person.
i think you will find that many Christians fell the same way even if they don't know how to express it in words.

Because I have lived on the sinful side and have had no meaning in life,

I began talking to GOD and he answered me he showed me what life was meant to be and it's where I want to be. Yes I have had to give up things that I thought were good and fun but that is sacrifice. God provides other things that are better and just as fun.

Do I struggle with it yes every day but I pray and know that God is beside me helping get thru things.

Read your bible it will help you understand, and find your answers.
I can plant the seed with his name but God will nurture you.

throughout life i have seen signs from the birth of a baby, to the wind blowing, beautiful mountains and sunsets, the pacific ocean and its vastness. and then look up and to think that it just happened by two objects colliding seemed silly. why would man and woman be able to create children, generation after generation if not for a sovereign entity. that is the start and a basis i work off of

like breathing air you can't see but without it you can't live. we all have the basic need to love and be loved why is that? It's just an emotion, but without it we die emotionally who do you suppose gave us that need tobe filled? God is . If ever you get so far down that you will never think you'd never be able to faceanother day, hour or second just take a moment ,just a moment and tell it to Jesus. Then tell me
