Lucifer was prideful, right? About what? He thought he was like God? How? He obviously didn't actually think he was as powerful as God, so what was it about? Do we just not know? It must have been an actual issue, to convince 1/3 of the other angels to dissent. What kind of issue could cause these enlightened beings to rebel against the Almighty? What could cause them to stand up against certain failure? What causes humans to behave that way? Not greed. Nothing petty. They knew they couldn't win, but still fought. Maybe a moral issue. Maybe they stood up for justice against this jealous and vengeful child-god? What were they trying to TELL God? What could have compelled the captain of the angel-team and 1/3 of the players to SACRIFICE their relationship with God?

There is a very interesting book that I think you should read. It's main theme is exactly the one you describe on your question. It's by Anatole France and it's called The Revolt of the Angels (la Révolte des Anges). You can find it here as an ebook:

It is hillarious.

Not a sacrifice in the context of the scriptures. There should require two parties, the one who is offering and the receiver. There is no receiver. So, not a sacrifice.

I am not sure how well accepted or rejected is the concept that, in the story between Adam and Eve, and a snake in the garden of Eden, the snake represents Lucifer. This story describes how Lucifer became Satan. Also, how well accepted or rejected is the concept that the snake, the two trees, the fruit are symbolic, and therefore the 'eating' of the fruit is also symbolic.

Your question suggested their relationship with God is 'sacrificed' or lost. However, the three of them knew the result is 'death', not lost of relationship. Thus, the 'sacrifice' is not the relationship with God, but life. What can make someone willing to go for at the price of death? According to the many love stories written, love is a possibility. In this case, love that went a very wrong way.

However, if we define 'life' as being related to God, or recognized by God, then yes, it was their relationship with God that was lost. Thus, God's warning that the day they eat the fruit they'll die came true, sadly.

Ok so assuming that your a believer in heaven and hell, especially the biblical version, it's a place of torture, and not like kinky torture. More like having the image of the person you love most tell you how much the despise and hate you. I'm not saying that's what it would be but I'm sure that's what it would feel like. I would be your worst nightmare multiplied by 1 000 000 and you would endure it for eternity without the even the slightest hope of it ever ending. Fear and every emotion that comes with it would be the only thing you would know. But like I said, that's assuming you believe in that type of thing.

Satan is the first free-thinker and Saviour of the World.

Judaeo-Christians' own scriptures say it was Satan who offered humankind the choice of free-will, or continued enslavement to the tyrant-god. The first archetypical human couple chose freedom, and willfully disobeying the godly-tyrant partook of the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge, gaining self-consciousness and the ability for independent thought. (Genesis 2-3).

Ezekiel 28 answers all your questions. This is God talking:

“ You were the seal of perfection,
Full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.
13 You were in Eden, the garden of God;
Every precious stone was your covering:
The sardius, topaz, and diamond,
Beryl, onyx, and jasper,
Sapphire, turquoise, and emerald with gold.
The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes
Was prepared for you on the day you were created.
14 “ You were the anointed cherub who covers;
I established you;
You were on the holy mountain of God;
You walked back and forth in the midst of fiery stones.
15 You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created,
Till iniquity was found in you.
16 “ By the abundance of your trading
You became filled with violence within,
And you sinned;
Therefore I cast you as a profane thing
Out of the mountain of God;
And I destroyed you, O covering cherub,
From the midst of the fiery stones.
17 “ Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty;
You corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor;
I cast you to the ground,
I laid you before kings,
That they might gaze at you.
18 “ You defiled your sanctuaries
By the multitude of your iniquities,
By the iniquity of your trading;
Therefore I brought fire from your midst;
It devoured you,
And I turned you to ashes upon the earth
In the sight of all who saw you.
19 All who knew you among the peoples are astonished at you;
You have become a horror,
And shall be no more forever.”’”

Peace.

What would cause 2/3, the majority, of the enlightened beings to not rebell? Those that did rebell were deceived.

Lucifer was dissobedient to God and God cast him out of heaven and took his beauty away from him and gave him a horrid appearance to match the evil that he became. That was't a sacrifice. Just plain stupid.

I have always wondered that. But, the problem here is that your question is based on the prerequisite that the bible is an accurate history book, and it's not. So, I try not to boggle my mind with how one B.S. story conflicts with another B.S. story in the good book of total B.S.
