It's because we all have some defective genes in our bodies but they need to conect to other defective gene to cause us harm. So when cousins have kids there is a greater chance that they could each pass down the same defective gene to their kid and therefore the kid would end up sick....something like that : /

It's kinda like when you have a 'pure bred' dog. How Rottweilers are prone to seizers, dalmations get mean ... etc. With in-breeding any genetic defect that is passed down thru the generations can harm the resulting child - some people have these recessive genes, but if you both have the gene, chances are pretty good that the child will have whatever the gene is carrying. The more pure your blood-line is, the higher your chances for genetic defects. Ever notice the amount of autism and childhood diseases in the Amish population? That is the best way to describe it - hope it helped.

Not completely but genetics can play up and cause problems. If the family has genetic defects or illness the risk factor is much higher of passing it on.
Can cause blood and bone problems. Really depends on how the dna and chromosomes link up.

It's because people who are related have similar genetic makeup (meaning their unique life sequence (genes) could be very closely related). If you have a baby with someone you're related to, it means that if both mom and bad have a bad genetic copy of a certain gene it is more likely to show up in their baby.
