Try a candy buffet. Have them buy a bunch of their favorite candies, put them in cute containers, have some little favor bags handy and let the guests get what they like. I've heard that its a big hit. Hope that helps.

Saturday, bless their hearts! What a good friend you are...heres a few suggestions:

plastic(can use silver) with little kisses on the spoon wrapped in tulle with a ribbon...

candles wrapped in tulle with a ribbon

little tulle bags with kisses or another candy -tie a little ribbon on them

Walmart has little favor box, they can be expensive if you are planning on making alot of them. But you can buy those and fill them with candy.

I think the little tulle bags of kisses or another candy are precious...you can pick the color of tulle that makes the color of the wedding, and a ribbon to match....and they won't break a all ready strained budget.

Favors are just a little thank you for coming, so they don't have to be anything big or hard to do. For my daughters we did little jelly jars with bar-b-que sauce, and we put material on the lid and cut it bellow out a little and tied raffta ribbons for the men, and then did the candles and tulle for the ladies

Walmart and hobby stores have little tags you can printed on the computer with their names and date of the wedding on them. Walmart for a 100 was $5.00. it had a little personal touch.
I am making bags of M & M's for a couple now, they both love that particular brand of candy, and I found at a party supply store where you can sorted colors, so I am buying pink and brown M & M's and mixing for the perfect touch.

Hope the bride isn't stressing too much over this, it can be done in a couple of hours, especially if her good friends get together, and help tie ribbons.....so ya'll get busy tying those ribbons...have the happiest of wedding days...thank God for good friends like you, we brides, and mother of the brides would be lost!

God bless us all............

Unfortunately the time line is too tight to order something personalized and pre-made for you, but you can still spend a few hours and create something fabulous. For this time of year, I love to use wrapped tea light candles. They are available in a variety of scents (just be careful not to get something so strong it conflicts with the food) and colors. Clear cups are prettier than the metal ones, but a little more expensive. Your local craft store and friendly neighborhood Walmarts carry them for about $2 a dozen. Pick up some pre-cut tulle (netting) circles to match the wedding colors (DollarTree for white, craft store like Michael's for colors). Wrap the tea light inside and tie with coordinating ribbon color.

If you have the time,. pick up some business card pages for your printer (again at Walmart or an office supply store) and print a message; i.e. "Thank you for bringing light and love to our wedding. Joey & Cherie, 9/9/06". Use a single hole punch and tie it to the candle with the ribbon.

Put the favors in the champagne cups on the tables to bring a little extra color to the table settings - it looks very elegant. Total unit cost for each favor (not including your time, of course) is about 50 cents each, making it affordable. If you have 100 or so to do, I would plan on spending about 3 hours between printing, cutting and tying.

Hope this helps, and congratulations to the happy couple!

Go to thrift stores, yard sales, whatever and find as many wine glasses as you have guests. Mix and match, etching or not. Make sure they are really clean, and relatively scratch-free. Leave the whole collection of them on a table at te reception and leave a note card on each plate, asking guests to choose their drinking glass, even if they prefer water. This will be their favor. You can even tie a ribbon, or flowers to each to dress them up a bit, or put a few chocolates wrapped in tulle with a 'thank you for coming' note in each just for a little something extra.

I went through this with a gala I was helping to run. What we did was go to oriental trading company (http://www.orientaltrading.com/application?namespace=browse&Ne=90000&sp=true&Ntk=all&Ntx=mode%2bmatchallpartial&cm_re=TOP_PS_5&event=catalog&N=377385&origin=home.jsp&tabId=PartyPlanning) and got them express delivered. I ordered them Tuesday night and they were there on Thursday or Friday.

Something else I have seen is cookie favors. What you do is call up a local bakery or even a grocery store and see if they can make x dozen cookies by Friday night. Then get gift bags at the dollar store and stick each one in there with ribbon and they'll look great.

Finally, if you have time, go to a party supply store and by colored spoons, and then go to the grocery store and get dark chocolate chips, white chocolote chips, food coloring, and wax paper. Melt the dark chocolate and dip each spoon in it, then lay the spoon on wax paper. Then melt the white chocolate and color it with food coloring to match the bridal colors. Then take a fork and dip it in the chocolate and drizzle it over the spoons. when dry, place in a small bag and tie with a ribbon. It is supposed to be a coffee-stirrer and it goes over really well.

Good Luck!

Bookmarks. I have files for these already...if you want to send me a message, I can send the files to you. Type in the right names and wedding date, and then they can just print them off at Kinko's (it'll cost about $13) and cut them. If they get fancy scissors, they can make cool looking cuts on the top and bottom. An hour, max.

I just went through this with my daughter's wedding.

Bottles of Bubbles are always a big hit, as are the little Mini Kissing Bells

Buy those little inexpensive rectangle mints in pastel colours, they are cheap. Buy rolls of tulle - you can get it like 8" wide, cut in squares, put mints on, tie with ribbon. Can attach a printed strip of paper (hole punched on side, attach with ribbon before you tie bow to close) with "Thanks for helping us celebrate our special day. "- then the names and the date. These are really quick to put together. and look really nice, because it's easy to find the tulle and ribbon at a crafts store or sewing shop.
