My boyfriend bought me a really expensive diamond necklace and diamond stud earrings from Zales. I love the necklace and want to keep it but I really don't like the earrings. I lose studs all the time and I need something that clasps shut. He said I could return them and gave me the reciept, however, I feel kind of guilty.. He said it was no big deal. Is it wrong to return it? Should I just keep them? What if I lose them?

I sensed he was a little unhappy that I wanted to return them..but he's a guy and he said he had no idea what to pick in the store and the lady helped him out

The earrings were 300 bucks looking at the reciept..that's 300 bucks down the drain if I lose them and 300 bucks on something I don't like

Take them back and exchange them for the type that you need. I'm sure he'd rather see you wearing the exchange, than to have the studs sit in your jewelry box, never to be seen again, or worse yet... lost.

Hopefully, he'll remember that for the next time around.

You should return the earrings and it isn't wrong. If you lost something he gave you as a gift would be worse than exchanging something he gave you as a gift. If he went through all the trouble of getting the jewlry then just exchange what you know you have the possibility of losing.

I personally wouldn't return them....but it's really between you and your bf. I have some diamond stud earrings that I had the same fear that I would lose them....so...I took them to a jeweler and he put these posts on them that were "screw backs" so the backing screws on and you won't ever lose them. hope that helps! Best wishes!

Go ahead & return ‘em. No need to feel guilty. I think your bf is being sincere when he says it's no big deal. Believe me, he understands & it looks like he’s man enough to not take it personally. Besides, he’s battin’ 500, which aint bad in a minefield like buying jewelry for a woman.
If you want to spare his feelings, take him with and get his input on a new set.

You shouldn't lose them to easily. They aren't cheap studs. The backs should work better and sometimes they screw on. Tell him to return them and buy something a little more practical.

if he says he is ok with you returning them then do so . But be preparred cause he might be leary to buy you anything in the future due to the fact that he might think you would return it . So please weigh this issue as it is a tough one . What ever you decide good luck.

Could you sense an odd feeling when he handed you the receipt and said it was ok? If he didn't he meant it.
