She does not need a passport ot LEAVE to Venezuela only to come back into the U.S.

If her passport has expired, most likely her Visa has too!!

I would recommend trying to get her passport renew either here or just wait until she is going to come back! She will have to get a new visa in her naturally born country!

Tell her she needs to be carefull if she plans on coming back, they might not approve her visa and will have to stay in her country.

Best idea, try and talk to an INS attorney, they will let her know exactly what she needs to know before going!!!

Its the state, not the country. In the US you dont need a passport, papers or what not to travel between states. That was true of Eastern Bloc nations, you know the USSR, etc...

If she needs to fix her passport, have her contact the closest Venezuelan consulate, I think the closest one to you is in New York:

She can move from state to state with out her passport. She needs renew the passport and present it when she leaves for home. With proff of citizenship she should be able to leave any time for home. if she need help financially to get home she can go to the feds(immigration office and they will deport her free)
Deportation i snot a bad word and Americans are deported for one reason or the other all over the world annually.

Buy some swimmies!!!! Ohhh I love it!

Maybe you should ask her why she let her passport expire...thats a pretty important thing especially when an issue arises (like this). I doubt that the consulate will do much, but you can try.

You don't need a passport to leave New Jersey. You do need a passport to leave the U.S. It depends on where she is trying to get out of.
