A family member (67) will be undergoing an operation for diverticulitis soon. Who has had this operation? Did it help?Did the quality of life become better? Any tips or warnings?

My Mother -in law had diverticulitis and after surgery,she did just fine. they can do laparoscopy surgery and this is very minimal invasion if they can use this procedure. I wish your family member well and they will feel much better when this is done.

My mom had this surgery at about the same age. A portion of her intestine was removed to make her healthy again. It helped her a great deal - after healing from surgery her life went back to normal with no pain and a much better quality of life. Just do as the doctor says for recovery and your family member should be just fine.
