My hubby is an officer! umm.. We have friends and they argue all the time about the hours that he has to work! Sometimes an extra shift sometimes it can be as few as 2 hours..lol... A lot don't like the dangers involved and the stuff that can happen to them. There are times my hubby isn't home for the holidays or gets called out during one of our kids b-day party. Before we got married my hubby wanted to be a cop and he told me of the hours he may be workingg, and the dangers of what could happen (God forbid) and I told him if it was what he wanted to do, I am behind him all the way! We have been married for 5 years, he's been a police officer for 3! I love him and it was a risk I am willing to take! Our marriage is great, granted he's workin more than he's home, but I knew what I was getting into before we got married. lol..many officers spouses don't like that. I am not sure if that helped ya out at all but I hope so! If ya have any questions just send me mail!
have a good day!

Well, the pros is that he works. Moslty works to help people. Cons...well, he might take his job too seriously that it will affect the way he handles situations outside of a uniform (like being bossy, always in control, and a Yes Sir attitude)..his job is risky...there is no set schedule as it always changes...If you can put up with him having shift work and missing inportant parts of your life and your kids then it is ok.. After all, Love is what matters and not work.

My wife just doesn't like some of the hours I work. The overnights that turn into double shifts. I work some holidays including xmas, easter, etc.

I'm not going to generalize and tell you that some cops are abusive or not. Some doctors, artist, bus drivers can be abusive.

I personally wouldn't mar anyone. But if you're really angry with him, maybe some nice acid on his arm or something. Just a small scar to teach him a lesson.

I don't know if marring an officer carries a higher sentence than marring a civilian though. It might. You could get labeled as a "cop marrer."

Is he the angry, steroid, trigger happy type?

NO.

Is he the kindergarten cop type?

Sure.

By the way, you don't need a cop to make you feel secure. A big dog can do that.

Yeah, cops are known for their devotion to wives. Very secure. Good luck with that.

was married to police officer, still married to guy but he retired. worst thing about it was worrying if something would happen to him, (such as shot by bad guy). other than that no worse than married to anyone else, i assume. there are good and bad in all professions.

Make sure he isn't abusive. A lot of cops have mean streaks and exposive personalities.

Are you saying your current mate is disabled, and that when the time comes (his death) - you want to marry a cop?

What a skank you are!
Shame on you!
