This is a huge project, with many different systems being integrated into it. I dont think it has any more problems than any other major aircraft test program, it is just that it is so much more visible to the public.

I'm sure that if you talked to a flight attendant they'll tell you that an Airbus plane gives the most headaches in the industry. The call the the "scarebus" because they always have maintenance issues. But they will also tell you that it has great capacity for holding pax and a lot of space on the cargo compartments. With that said even when the Airbus has done great, at the moment the airline industry is going trough very roughs times and having a plane that is that big raises too many questions, about performance, security, staffing and even the fact that many airports are having to re arrange their gates and terminals in order to accommodate this type of plane.

The A380 is a completely new aircraft and with it being as big as it is, problems will arise. There are so many parts involved that it isn't surprising problems are surfacing. With the airlines wanting the aircraft lighter so it is more fuel efficient, that only adds more problems. The aircraft failed a wing stress test once.

Boeing is having problems of their own with the 787 because of the composite material not being as strong as they hoped it would be.

I have heard that airbus airplanes are called "throw away" aircrafts. After a so many hours of use they do not compare in reliabilty to boeing aircrafts. Boeing 707s still fly in some places yet the one airbus tail came off in 2001 crashing in new york.

Because it's being built by Europeans, who show up to work at 9 am, leave at 2 pm, take three 15 min. smoke breaks, a two-hr. lunch break in which everyone of you sits at a table facing the street so that you can pretend you're better than everyone else. Oh, let's not forget you take the entire month of August off because of your grueling work schedules. IT NEVER GETS COMPLETED!!

What else would you expect from a company that is so innefficient and incompetent from top to bottom that it has to be government subsidized to stay alive. Reality is catching up with them.

Any airplane has problems, and the bigger the plane the more areas for problems to develop. Everything is subject to market whim as well.
