I don't have a clue. I don't read Chick tracts.
I used to play D&D. And I'm an atheist.
Oooh... creepy...

Why is it that most people believe it is more rational and real to be an atheist than a theist of any sort? You play D&D, good job, I did to when I was young...but that has absolutely nothing to do with the game. You're an atheist because you chose to believe in something, and that is that. And for all of you out there that think it is not believing in something, or that it is what rational people do, here is a question for you: You ask people to prove to you that God exists and they come up with no solid proof, so you disbelieve in God. When I ask you to prove that God doesn't exist, all the reasons (if you can come up with any at all) are just as hopefull and groundless. If there is no proof that God exists or doesn't, then how can you say it is more rational to disbelieve if it takes just as much of a leap of faith to do so? And if you think that the burden of proof lies on the theists, then you are mistaken my friends. If you want to believe in something go ahead, I'm not going to judge you or tell you that you're wrong, because I have no clue as to the truth. But, if you're going to get mad at the people who try to push their beliefs on you, remember that it is probably the exact thing you are doing, except they are at least giving reasons instead of the fact that there is no proof...there is no proof either way, so not believing is just as naive as believing in a God none of us will ever understand. For the record, I am agnostic, not an atheist or a theist, because I cannot possibly know if God exists or not, so I don't bother racking my brain over a question none of us can answer. Live life, leave the snide remarks about people who believe something at the door, because all it proves is that you don't know your backside from a hole in the ground.
P.S. This is not directed at the question person asking the question, because as of yet, he has not proved to be one of the atheist that I'm speaking of. And, I'm well aware that you are not all like this (neither are religious people for that matter), so please don't take offense if you don't fall in that group. Believing is not a bad thing, but trying to make others feel bad/dumb/wrong about their personal beliefs is.

Now if you had said you became a Pagan... then they would probably say Dungeons and Dragons lead you to the dark side and the demons will soon possess your soul. So get out your Bastard Sword +3 and get to work! Geez...

No, they are unrelated. If anything, DnD teaches Christian values anyway (as a rule I mean, that would vary by campaign, but it would never really be in opposition), what with all of the saving the world and protecting the innocent and such.
Remember, DnD only even started being considered anti-Christian because some woman who drove her son to suicide sought a scapegoat. And then Jack Chick drew a tract for her. A great accomplishment for him--he was always about prejudice, but usually he just expressed it, this time he got to start his own!

We have a very strict set of entrance rules. We don't just let anyone in you know!
Here's the abbreviated list:
1. Don't believe in gods
Searching through the list, I don't see restrictions against people who used to play Dungeons and Dragons, so I suppose we MIGHT let you in.

Dungeons and Dragons has nothing to do with the religion you choose...or don't choose.
Nice attempt for a lame joke though

No I assume not. I imagine you became an atheist because you believe in the basic value of people and prefer reason and logic over myth and superstition.
Dungeons and dragons is a good game though. I preferred playing with my train set myself.

LOL!!! I play D&D with a Mormon, a non-denominational pair of Christians and a Deist, not to mention my husband who is an agnostic-theist. They were that way going in and they haven't been "pushed over the edge" at all. You're an atheist on your own accord... it's not the d20.

Sounds to me more like you've engaged in rational thinking about the real world and come up with the obvious answer.
