i ask the same thing but people accuse me of being prejudice if i say that.
think about Muslim wear hijab because it protects them from men(and some women)who treats women for the way they look and not your personality.when you wear hijab men will treat you with a bit more respect.now I'm not say that hijab protects you from all lustful eyes but it does cut down on it a great deal.
but some Jewish women cover as well.and christian women are SUPPOSED to cover but they don't.just like some Muslim women don't cover.
people shouldn't see the hijab as an oppression they should see it more as a liberation.

Did you read the article about the LAW in Pakistan? A woman who has been raped has to have 4 people testify to it or else she can be tried as a adulteress and killed? (stoned to death)
And changing this law is going to cause 40 or 50 of the Islamic lawmakers to resign office?
Now that is oppression.

Many do, even in 2006, because they buy into some Biblical or religious BS. It is a tragedy and a great loss for humanity. We are all more than our biology.

Um....okay... if you are saying it's wrong a wife submits to her husbands authority (unless he tells her to do something wrong or is beating on her) than...well....that's not bad.
