This happens when I put my bag on the seat and it thinks someone is there? I would also like to stop the beeping when I put it in reverse.

Procedure to remove the Reverse Beep (which is heard inside the car to tell the driver that the car is in reverse) on a North American 2004-current Prius:

Info is taken from the North American NHW20 Toyota Prius repair manual.

You may need to try it a few times to get it to work right and get the dance in sequence. (try some of the suggestions listed in the links I posted above.) The seatbelt beep disable procedure is pretty much the same as the reverse beep, except instead of moving the shifter in one of the steps you buckle/unbuckle the front seatbelt that you are disabling the beep. Any beep changes you make will be reset to default if your 12v battery is disconnected at some point, though.

If you have a Prius that was not delivered to North America, then the reverse beep disable procedure will not work (but the seatbelt beep disable procedure will). Some people on the Prius-Europe Yahoo!Group have identified where the beep is coming from, and the appropriate wire to cut, but no one has been willing to attempt cutting it yet to know for sure (don't want to risk warranty).

you must have one heavy bag. the weight sensor is only supposed to detect like 60+ pounds or something, i thought.

try either buckling the seatbelt, or putting your bag on the floor.

otherwise, you probably have to crack the dash and rip the wires out of the thing.

one last shot: try pushing the seatbelt release button on the passenger side. this stops the beeping in my friend's F250.

Your bag must weigh a lot...my sister's car does that and it has to do with weight. Put your bag in the floor and your problem will be solved.

Good answers above. You can also consider taking the fuse off the fuse box, just make sure it's the appropriate fuse.
Hope this helps :)
