well, i always get him small presents.. like chocolates or he says something like i want to watch this movie so i download it and get it to him on cd.. or something like i wanna read this book so i buy it for him (on no special occasions, day to day life)
he, on the other hand, does not do those things for me! however, he's the sweetest person on earth, doesnt fight with me, doesnt tell me what to do or not to do.. simply perfect!
i get upset because i feel he doesnt care enough to do those little things for me.. he sees that its only natural for him not to be perfect, and no one can have it all!
what do u think? am i making a big fuss out of nothing?
oh, and thx for reading the whole thing ;)

i was in a situation like that, and it can be frustrating because you do all of those things and you want him to do things like that too, but hes right no ones perfect and as long as he continues to treat you well then accept him as is, because you can find someone else who would do those things for you but cheats on your or beats you, so pick your battles

It's not a matter of right or wrong.
The two of you have settled into roles where you buy the chocolates and he eats them. He knows you enjoy buying chocolates and he enjoys eating them. It is kindness to allow people to be kind.
Think about how you would feel if he didn't want you to do these little things for him.
Most of all, think long and hard on how you feel about serving others. Ask yourself if you can continue doing this for life.
If you just want some assurance that he loves you, then the whole relationship, from your perspective, is in doubt.

I'd have to say you're making a big fuss out of nothing. Some people just have a different personality. If he's great for you in every other way, then don't worry about this little thing. It's inconsequential.

sweety, you are kind of making a big fuss over nothing. Doing things for sign. other on a daily basis is a sweety thing, but they come to expect those kind of things. He probably gets you things when you least expect it, when it is meaningful for him to do it or get it. Just do not expect to much in the gifts, just enjoy the time you spend together and the things you do together as well. From what I read, it seems like you truelly do like this guy and not receiving gifts on a daily basis shouldn't determine anything for you. Some guys just do not think of things like that to do, they much rather spend time with you and show you how they feel then showering you with gifts and material things.

Good luck to you!!

Small presents are really nice, but gifts should never be the focal point of a relationship. You should be with this guy because of all the good things you've said about him, being sweet and concerned, but not controlling. That's how someone who really cares for you shows their affections.

Now, if he forgets your anniversary or birthday without a gift, you might have a case...

you say he's simply perfect. That he's sweet and doesn't fight... but you're upset because he's not getting you stuff...... ????? Most guys I know don't show affections through gifts, or at least the ones to hold on too don't. Does he take you out? (and pay) maybe that's his idea of being thoughtful?? If you're happy with him, I'd try to overlook the material things..... What's more important to you, "things" or love?

Yup...Big fuss about nothing. I'm the same way...My love language is gifts, his is acts of service. He does things for me to show me that he loves me while I show him buy getting him fun stuff I know he'd enjoy. People are different and you should be happy you have someone who cares about you SINCERELY. My advice for you is to get the book 'The Five Love Languages' and read it together. That will make everything make sense immediately to you both. You might have different love languages, but it's important to speak your significant other's love language sometimes, too. Good luck! =)

You can't necessarily expect him to express his love the same way that you do. I bet if you took some time to think about it, you would realize that he shows his love in other ways. Be grateful that you have the "sweetest person...simply perfect". It's more than most folks get!
