Souldn't worry too much, the aircraft is sponsored by Rolls Royce, BAE systems and quite a few large corporations so there is a fair amount of finance available.

If you would like to do your bit then go to:

http://www.vulcanshop.com

Where you can purchase goods that will support the cause, or if you are qualified volunteer to help at RAF Bruntingthorpe.

All the best.

How about they raise the money selling ear plugs to all the poor people that will have to listen to four old rolls royce olympus engines each time it passes!

Let it rest in peace!!! They will get all your cash to fly it for one season and then be begging for more! OLD JETS ARE NOT CHEAP!

Just remember old military jets tend to have ejector seats so that when something went wrong the pilot gets out and the aircraft just piled into that theatre of war. Now I guess the Vulcan wont be off to Afghanistan or Iraq so it means they will be flying it over densly populated Britain.....getting my point yet!

Just an opinion, but I think a valid one! Give it all the back up systems that a modern civil airliner has and then I am happy for it to fly over my house!

Insomniac, we want to restore the Vulcan as it was a wonderful aircraft, and is part of our history and Herigage. If that's how you feel about an aircraft, shouldn't we stop air travel altogether, and then take months to cross the larger seas (Britain to America), Japan to America etc?)

What a stupid comment

This is where you can donate...

If i lived near southend (Where they're restoring it) I'd happily help in the physical restoration, but I'm in the NW, so I'll only be able to donate money.

I really hope it flies again, I'd love to see it restored to it's former glory.

didnt no they were gonna have one off them flying about, miss them and the lightnings. used to go up raf binbrook with my dad as a kid to watch the lightnings. run a raffle with the winner having a flight in one. by the time the end of the year comes you should have enough. £1 a ticket and donations from air displays.

Simple!....Chrisen the airplane with a name, register this name on the electoral register then claim to be a black lesbian dwarf with aids who wishes to start a muslim only school at bruntingthorpe and the Government will throw millions at you!

Problem solved.

So, you'd like a million quid to fire up some engines on an obselete aircraft, and burn up some fossil-fuels to increase the CO2 content of the atmosphere, WHY, exactly?
I don't have a lasting affection for the days and furnishings of the Cold War.

How about you park it in a hanger somewhere, polish it up a bit and just stand there and appreciate it.
