I would want to help homeless, unwanted, or abused animals by providing a place where people could bring an animal they found or couldn't keep that would serve as an alternative to taking the animal to the pound.

I would want a dog rescue and animal sanctuary - so those who are deemed too old to adopt or too ill to peacefully live out their lives.

I would also like to start a program that helps working towards putting an end to the poverty cycle in the USA; with education, self-esteem building, hope, safety, responsibility.

teaching low income families how to budget better and save money (teach what to avoid and what they may not have realized before) and see how they can improve on their situation by working on their strengths, this can be used for a career or to help more people in their same directions. give the phase, give a man a fish you feed them for a day, teach a man to fish you feed them for a life time. teach what can help, so that which was taught can be told like a chain in a link.

This is going to sound odd to some, but I'd like to set up a program to buy Kevlar vests for both police officers and police dogs. The vests are pricey, and there are departments and officers who can't afford them. They save the lives of those who work hard to save our lives, and I wish I could give a vest to every officer and K-9 in this country.

I'd do it in memory of my late search dog, Cody, who gave a lot of love to the people he helped.

Edit: Man, what a bunch of great answers. . .it's nice to see compassionate hearts like these! :)

Something for the elderly...they have paid their dues and deserve some respect and attention. There is a wealth of wisdom that needs to be passed on to new generations.
