I'm having a long weekend in Great Yarmouth in a couple of weeks time, I'm visiting a friend who lives there but want to know what I really must see when I'm down there, any suggestions? I like all sorts of attractions from arts to history to drinking the afternoon away in the pub.....!

Have already been told of the crazy golf courses, of which I'm trying every one!

My wife and I enjoyed the free tour of the city hall; they let us try on the old aldermen's robes. They have a Nelson column older than London's, but it's in sad disrepair in the middle of an industrial estate. They also have a new-ish Nelson Museum with a good collection of memorabilia and a display about 19th c navy life. There is an old cinema which, if it's showing something good, would be nice to support and keep going. There is also an observation tower overlooking the sea. It may have been in Great Yarmouth that we took a boat trip out to see seals. We found it to be tackier than Cromer but it was still fun.

About 30 wind turbines just off shore near North Denes is what you`ll definitely see whether you want to or not. Other than that it`s a great place. Loads of tat shops, plenty of fish n chips and delicious doughnuts . Typically British. Fantastic!

Try a boat trip up Breydon Water and on to the Broads. Or hire a boat for the day and go village-hopping.
