The message is telling me that components are missing and it is part of the uninstall I am sure. The program came with my computer so I have nothing to reload it with and I have already used a 30 day trial on my computer at home. Is there any way to get rid of McAfee? I am sure this was just a 90 day trial and it has expired now. Can anyone help me? Is there any kind of removal tool, I cannot find it. Thanks

Excuse me...but I did use the program in my control panel to uninstall it and if you would have read my question you would have seen that I said I cannot reinstall it! So go talk to someone else with that tone, I don't need to hear it.

Well, you can try to use a uninstaller software program. Uninstaller programs delete all files and registry keys associated with a software program. I have used a number of such programs and I recommend using either TuneUp Utilties 2006 or Iolo's System Mechanic 5 or 6. Both of them are system utility suite with a uninstall tool. Both suites offer a 30-day trial period. After 30-days, you have to purchase a license to use it. I have yet to find a program which can't be uninstall with either programs.

I had the same thing happen to me years ago when I was not so wise and used Mcafee. It is a piece of crap software. Sadly, the only thing that worked for me was completely reinstalling Windows. Reinstalling McAfee didn't work, and no options for uninstalling worked. You could try going into safe mode and deleting all the folders associated with McAfee, but it will still be in your control panel.

Thats because you delete it! You dont delete programs to uninstall them! You use the uninstall feature or add remove programs! Now reinstall the program and do a proper uninstall this time!

You might think about doing a restore prior to the date that you in stalled McAfee.
