what did you think and where did you stay?

I went last year in April and it wasn't too exciting. Except when I got drunk and woke up with a tattoo. That was interesting. I also went on a tour to Ephesus that sucked. Ephesus was cool but we had the stupidist most ignorant tour guide. I wish I could remember the name of the company so that you don't use them. I stayed at the Richmond Resort. It was supposed to be a 5 star but I have stayed at nicer 4 stars. It was only 91 Canadian a night all inclusive but the food wasn't very good not was there a lot of choice. The only thing that made it worth it was that included alcohol, hence the tattoo I guess. I think it may be better in the summer then in April though. It is a beautiful area.

I was there twice this year and will be going again next week for my birthday. I stayed at the Atinc Hotel which is across the road from the seacoast and a short walk from the tourist shopping centers. The hotel was pleasant enough; the breakfast was fairly good; the restaurant staff was very nice. I was able to get French press coffee and drink it while watching folks stroll along the seaside. I made several friends while I was there and plan to visit them again. The best thing is that one can go to a number of historical sites and interesting towns, such as Selcuk, in only about an hour and a half by bus and by ferry to the Greek island of Samos where there are some good music bars and nice but pebbly beaches.

We went to Ephesus and stayed in Selcuk in July (rather than Kusadasi). We stayed at the Hotel Bella, which is a wonderful hotel, with very friendly hosts.

No I didn't go this year but I lived there for four years and have to say that from what I saw and from what my friends who live there tell me that the city is on a downward spiral of overbuilding and price cutting. So if you are looking for somewhere cheap to go where you will be drinking and partying and sunbathing. Then go for it. However if you are interested in actually experiencing Turkey there a lot of other smaller, quieter, cleaner and nicer places in the country.

I think it depends on your age and what you are looking for when you go on holiday.
