As a Buddist, you need to release the anxiety over hell. Concisely put, the aim of Buddhist practice is to put an end to the stress of existence. "I teach one thing and one thing only: suffering and the end of suffering" (The Buddha). To achieve this state (Nirvana), adherents train and purify the mind by following the Four Noble Truths, the Noble Eightfold Path, and the Middle Way, eventually arriving at an understanding of the true nature of all things, thus ending (nirodha) all ignorance and unhappiness and attaining liberation: nirvana. Buddhist teaching encourages individuals to practice and verify the Buddha's teachings based on their own personal experience, to question whether they are valid or not, and if so, to apply them in a practical form into their daily life if they so wish.

As a buddist you don't believe in Hell, but rather in reincarnation. Granted you may come back as something at a lower level of enlightenment which could be like Hell, but if you seek enlightenment you will escape this fate.

Which religion you follow should not make you more or less compassionate, because who you are is internal...

... Your religion is external.

... Hell is hypothetical, and you wont go there for any radical beliefs, but for the consequence of your actions.

Its not the thought, its not the action, it is the result, and whatever you believe in... If your going to cause someone else pain then its going to come right back at ya, and if not you, then the people you care about...

Because if yoyu don't believe in Karma then you may understand something called social consequence.

Well, christianity is just a cult, but it caught on big time. Just because there are millions of converts doesn't make it the truth. Jesus' philosophy has been twisted and reinterpreted to be used to control other people throughout time. The bible writers claim to be divinely inspired but so does some crazy cult leaders. It is really open to interpretation. People can have their philosophy, whatever makes them feel better, but there is no truth to those hell comments.

WHY did you do that? Church of England believes the Trinity and Buddhism isnt believing that. Buddhism is a cult. Repent and be baptized. Jesus is the way the truth and the life.

That does not mean you are going to hell. Everyone believes in what they are supposed to believe there is a plan for everyone. I really dont think many people go to hell just the bad people. This is just my opinion but I am happy for you in finding what you are compassionate about. Keep it up )

the hell state that Christians believe in is in all honesty their belief. it does not encompass every religion. when Christianity started the early Christians used scare tactics to win over converts. this carried on through the ages. Christians like any other religion believe their brand is the best. so leave the hell state and look inside yourself to see the true you and walk that path of enlightenment which you seek, but be sure to see the truth in all things including the lies were lead to believe in.

Good grief, don't worry about it. Heaven and Hell are just someones theories adapted from ancient religions thousands of years ago. You sound a bit confused. Best to back off from religion for a while. Chill out and take long walks. Smell the roses or whatever is blooming in your area this time of year.

I think that if a person worships God and tries to be a good, compassionate and loving human being, that person will go to Heaven no matter what religion he worships under. If that person tries to commit no sins and asks for forgiveness after committing one,he is going to Heaven. I think everyone knows how to be a "good human being" and can sense when a wrong is committed.

Being kind and compassionate does not earn you a position in heaven because rejecting Jesus Christ has already condemned you to eternal damnation in hell.

Jesus said, it is better for someone to have never known Him than to know Him and then turn away.

My friend, come back to Him. He is the Way and the Truth. Deep down, you know that.

I am a born again Christian formerly from a Buddhist family. Trust me, no religion can ever give u the peace that our Lord Jesus gives us.

Come back to Him.

You might want to dig a little deeper into Buddaism - they believe in Nirvana, not Heaven and Hell. Jews don't believe in Heaven or Hell. You are probably feeling better in Buddaism because it is a calming, embracing religion of peace. Nam yoho rengye ko!
