Ihave lived with many illegals and known people that worked at clinics. They will get free meds, free emergency care(which can include major surgery) free couseling care(mental health). What other care is there? Acupuncture? They can scam for some care because there is no way to trace thier income. Like my roomate got free surgery and care on his broken foot because He used my name as the owner of his apartment and said that he coudn't pay full rent...so you see...don't bs me..I know how it works. Clinic down the road from me. Line out the door every morning.....everybody speaking Spanish..get the picture

You are absolutely right, not fare for us, but they can get away with it. shame to the Government. not only that, I used to have a Mexican neighbor that she purchased new trucks and furniture's , never pay them back, because she change SS# and addressees like under panties. Whoa!

Yes-they can get Medicaid and free health care if they qualify-income not citizenship was the requirement (some States are changing that). and it is costing America plenty. Hospitals are closing.
The only way to change the problem is-National health or change the requirements.
Mend--not everyone can get the help they need-you are misinformed. Many people die because they can not afford medicine and do not qualify for programs for one reason or another--ask any hospital please-and if you find one that says that is not true-print it here-I will find out the stats on that.
Foreigners actually do get aid easier (it had a purpose to begin with). Now it is abused and unfair to others in many ways.
I see National Health as the only way out of this-or continue to have more hospitals close--but many do not want the extra taxes. That is a whole different debate.

Any hospital that receives government funds has a legal obligation to provide emergency health care to any and all who present for care.
That does not mean elective procedures. As a worker in a community hospital,I can attest to the problem with false names and addresses. This is not a simple issue. There are over 46 million Americans without health insurance. These are not all lowlifes and schemers. Most are employed. A typical family coverage is 800-900 per month with a 2,000 deductible.

They absolutely do get free medical care, as well as dental for their children, section 8 housing, food stamps, etc etc etc. In addition to this THEFT, they are the direct reason Wages have declined for the first time since the great depression. Yahoo answers is full of bleeding heart idiots that have no clue as to the massive impact of this invasion. I'm sick of these fools trying to champion the case of immigrants.. without inserting that most important adjective: ILLEGAL. the far right wing is no better in supporting these criminals. With staunch conservatives, these people are "good for the economy." They've enabled large companies to pay an awful lot less than a livable wage to provide their products/services. Simple greed.
These rallies aren't pro or anti immigrant. They're pro-ILLEGAL immigrant.

Let's take care of our own people first, elderly who have given a life of hard work, Veterans who could have given their life and may have compromised their health our children.
The U.S. doesn't have infinite resources we tax payers are tired of footing the bill.
If someone wants to come here we should have the right to ensure they are not coming here to exploit us or our system.
Could we go to a socialized country without a background/health check? No way they didn't even want our movie stars after the election of 2004.
Personally that really disappointed me!

Maybe we should hit $ transfer companies with a flat 50% tax on all cash going to mex. That ought to pay some medical bills, maybe even stem the tide!

Sounds like you know the answer. Yes illegals get free medical. They are also able to draw social security benefits that we pay into. The Senate passed this a couple of months ago.
Justsyd- Where are you coming from? If I didn't have health insurance through work, I'd have to pay out of pocket!!!

I'm sick and tired of all that BS, it's a major drain on our economy and it's driving health care, for the average American, up and out of control.
I believe there is a way to change all this, Americans need and must exercise their rights and go out and VOTE. WE can make a difference.

Yes illegals do get free care. It is bankrupting hospitals and schools in the southwest. California has a proposal to give illegals free college education. I am against it all. We can't let them bankrupt us.
Socialized medicine does not work, in canada or britian it has no service and goes broke. it is also 20years behind in medical development.

I believe anyone in the U.S. that is a citizen or a DOCUMENTED immigrant that falls on hard times should receive care. Undocumented immigrants should be shipped home.
