Sometimes it looks okay (Faith Evans, Mary J. Blige, Beyonce') but even these people can overdo it at times. What do you think influences this? Some people that I have asked say that it's the "westernization of beauty", some say identity issues, some say they just like how it looks. What do you think? Just for the record, I am black and I don't feel one way or another about it.

To me dyeing your hair no matter what race you are is silly. I mean excluding people who dye their hair for highlights or to cover gray. But just going all out with crazy colors is just denying who you are. GOD doesn't make anyone ugly so why would you take something that GOD created and deface it. I'm a black woman too and I love my black hair that I was born with and I haven't changed it and I don't plan on changing it. I think its just brainwashing when people dye their hair blone. They want to look more European. Its just not believeable either. It doesn't match our skin tones at all. I think they should find something more flattering. But thats just my opinion. Everyone is free to do whatever they want.

i think it has nothing to do with a racial identity, we are women and we are all beauty and style whores! Since the blonde hair is not normally natural to black women it really stands out and makes a huge impression and be it that it looks good or bad it WILL make the chick get noticed. I think its cool. We all need to feel unique and original.

I think that women, regardless of color, should experiment with different color hair. This is fun and opens up a whole range of different looks.

There are some white women (Marilyn Monroe and Myself) who have gone over the limit of "blonde" and have gone snow white. This is totally a fake look, but some people can pull it off.

Have a lovely rest of the day.

I feel blond hair is not just for the white girl. It depend on the skin color of the black girl. Black girls with that kind of tan, brown color to the skin can wear blond hair just fine.

Well I am black and I went honey blonde. It wasn't a wanting to be white thing, it's was just that my hair is naturally jet black, and that really just got old, plain, i just needed a change. It just looks good (on some people).

They can do whatever they want. I don't really care. If it looks nice then I like it, if it doesn't then I don't. I think some people make too big a deal of "white styles" versus "black styles" etc. We are all people so Who Cares. If a particular style fits your personality and looks good on you, who cares if it is a "white style" or a "black style" or a "martian" style.

I think going fully blond is not for black girls, because they do over do it. streaking would be better to work with. It's not a white thing it's a fashion thing.

I personally would never go blonde. I really don't think it looks good on any of them. It looks ridiculous.
