I am very hard on myself and many people told me this. I don't always like myself and wish at times I was not different because I have been persecuted all my life for it. What are godly ways I can really accept myself and love myself and be secure in God and myself? I dont want to waste my life I want to use it for the glory of God.

God loves you so very much for your dedication and devotion to Him. Spend some quite time alone with God in your room, and just sit and feel His presence. Feel his love and embrace. Do that every day, and set asside that quite time with God and His son Jesus. Meditate as well as sit quietly. You don't always have to be the one doing all the talking when you are in mediation with the Lord. Give Him a chance to speak to your heart. You might need this one on one time with Him to remove that feeling of struggle you are experiencing. The Lord our God will make things right for you all in His perfect time. Always remember how very much you are loved. Feel free to write me at praywithcarol1958@yahoo.com

Remember sister, that the Lord Almighty is an ALL GIVING EMPEROR, who has given the sun its light and the earth its fertility and water its nourishing quality.

Those who are Godly become giving. Everyone can give. Even the most poor. Once a poor man asked the Prophet of Islam you are always talking about giving, but I am a poor man. How can I ever match a rich man who has a lot of money that he does not desperately need as I do, so it is easy for him to give. Is Islam not inherently unfair to the poor?

The Prophet replied one does not just have to give money. A smile is something anyone and everyone can afford. Besides, a poor man is better placed than a rich man in many ways. A man whose total capital is ten dollars, can give everything he got several times in his life, whereas a Bill Gates or Ross Perot or the very rich can never give away everything they got, as it is not possible for them do that and recover their losses.

In that sense a rich man can never match a poor man. Besides, caring for the creatures of the Most HIgh is a form of giving. You begin to give sister, even if it is a smile (not directed to young men though.... ). You can give your parents a foot massage.

When people begin to give, they begin to see their own usefulness to others and as it is an act dedicated to the Almighty, he provides you from resources that you did not even imagine existed. Everything how ever does not have to be money.

You can visit some old folks homes and form relationships with some of the folks who may not have any visitors or children. Become hope for others so the Lord provides you hope from His abundant resources. Give, for giving is the way to get closer to the Lord.

However, always remember that what you are giving is not yours, it belongs to the Lord. Never think YOU are giving anything, as you are not. What you are giving is not really yours, but God's. ONCE that is understood the pride of giving is gone and only satisfaction for serving the Most High remains in our own small way.

The Lord Almighty does not need us. We are like the little three year old that goes with grandpa to "help" him in gardening. Grandpa uses that opportunity to make the little guy learn the art of giving and taking, helping and being helped without feeling guilt or any negatives.

I hope this makes sense to you sister.

there are many perfectionists out in the world, too! Know that your Savior is not condemning you now,nor do most earthmen! We do not have the time nor will we lose sleep over your minor mistakes! Jesus took you as you are knowing full well just what to corrct and what to enable! Everyday you have another Opportunity to serve HIM and HE will be right there to aid you in the task! You are gifted to Love others and that includes humongous amounts of Compassion spilling forth via the Holy Spirit! Put a smile on your soul by being Obedient everyday, every hour, and every moment. (hint= as if HE 'd let you travel alone ; where's the fun in that!)

He obviously put you here for a purpose. It is up to you to find that purpose and fulfill it. Do not spend any time feeling sorry for yourself. Pity parties are no fun. you must learn to value yourself so others will see the value in you. Change what you can that you are not happy with and learn to deal with the rest. Nobody is perfect and no one has all the answers. At least if they do they sure aren't sharing with the rest of us. One fact in life is true. do not let anyone else know how poorly you think of yourself:
1) Nobody cares because they have their own problems
2)they could give you advice, but would you follow it?
3)If you walk with God, you never walk alone

First of all believe that God loves you...God loves all of his children no matter how many flaws you have, all he wants is for us to open our hearts to him, and accept him truly if you do this trust me he will heal your pain, your suffering, your insecurities, even your self loathing, you will learn through his grace how to love yourself and others through him...do you not think God cannot identify with what you feel...let your imagination grasp for a second a man who is the son of God trying his utmost to spread the word, and facing the worst persecution ever, I'm talking about Jesus, and still never lost faith...your faith is little at the moment, remember faith can move mountains, pray non ceasingly for the things you lack, he will hear you.

Wasn't it Peter who pointed out that he was really just a lowlife uneducated fisherman, but when he allowed God to use him, the magnificent things he did were a greater reflection of God's glory. And what about that guy who was murdering christians and then got turned around and started living for God.

The point is, your worth is not determined by the sum of your parts, but in how you allow God to use you.

You probable need a real therapist to learn to accept you differences and realize you're not the only one with these differences. No two people are the same. Our brains are Hard wired before birth. You need to love yourself before you can truly love somebody else.

This is just a human answering. People who try to be perfect will always be disappointed because there is no perfection. In the meantime, you'll always feel as though you'd failed. Go easy on yourself and those around you. And you don't have to be in control of everything and everybody. Just appreciate that you're here.

It's hard to accept ourselves sometimes.

I still deal with this issue -- being unhappy about many things -- and it's hard to fathom how God loves us so deeply, when I wrestle with self-acceptance. I just don't "get it" completely.

I know it's harder because you feel like others have rejected you because of your differences -- so you not only have self-rejection, but some other-rejection issues going on.

There's no push-button solution; but you will find it easier to accept others once you accept yourself... and to do that, you need to start seeing yourself the way that God sees you. You can pray that God will change you so that you will see yourself as he does.

He thought you were worth dying for; and even though he sees you exactly as you are (both the good and bad), he still is not disappointed in you but takes joy in your existence, as the perfect parent would view his child.

I don't know how to make yourself believe what God has said. Prayer to God, embedding in your mind the things God said in the Bible about how he views you, and finding Christians you trust who can encourage you and treat you like a desirable person all are things that can help.

As you face this, there are at least two things to remember:

1. Accept yourself right where you are. Some of what you see in yourself is probably not pretty... and that's okay. Each one of us has issues we are dealing with, areas that are ugly to us. While God wants to transform us, he also loves us right as we are.

Don't hide from truth. See your good and bad... and accept it as you right now... and believe it's okay for you to be exactly what you are. There are no secrets from God. He already sees all this stuff -- and still loves you. Commit to learning what that means. [It will help take SOME of the sting out of other people's rejection of you.]

2. Don't spend too much time thinking about yourself and your problems. Focus on the glory of God. What does it mean to worship God? What has he done? Who is he? What's his intention towards us? This is really about worship.

After we accept the reality of being who we are right this moment, we don't have to get bogged down in it or spend all of our energy trying to fix our lives. We really need to get our eyes off ourselves and back on God and focus on what he is doing and wants to do.

How does God want to change you? What would it mean for you to reflect God accurately to other people? What would you look like? And what would other people look like, if they reflected God?

It's easy to get caught up on our "badness" and lose sight of God in the process. But it's not about us. Even when we are damaged or hurt or imperfect, God still wants to reflect Himself through our lives; He uses us anyway.

Our flaws have nothing to do with what God can do... and in fact, sometimes make it even more evident that God (and not ourselves) is who is at work. When we are weakest, that's when he is most strongly evident.
