In modern times, about half the commandments are of little value. "Thou shalt not use narcotics" and "Thou shalt not gamble" could be a new ones. What are others?

Actually, there are eleven commandments - not ten. Jesus added a new commandment to the original ten at the Last Supper, in the Gospel of John, chapter 13, verses 34 & 35. Jesus stated that He was issuing a NEW commandment to His disciples and future followers that the world would know His followers by their ability to love others as He loved the world - enough to give our life for others. So, there is another commandment, the Eleventh Commandment is to stop worrying about the rules and learn that caring for others is more important than rules.

I would add none.
Both "Thou shall not use narcotics and thou shall not gamble" are listed in the 10 commandments. It's listed under the heading "Thou shall have no other gods before me." A god is anything that replaces him. When we are using drugs to help with problems, we are replacing him. He wants to help us handle life. When we gamble we are seeking wealth through some other means.
Judge not that you be not judged is not listed as a 10 commandment.
Actually all the commandments have value in today's world. Some deal with your relationship to God, others with your relationship with people and one deals with oneself.

Not that we have the right to change them, but "Thou shalt love one another" would be a good one.

Life is a gamble and narcotics have always been around. Man have changed very little since creation; the Ten commandments apply to every period in history.
