Why does our governmant do this. I am lookin far and wide for a way to afford my medication. I'm 26 and just started my own buisness. To have to take another job just for coverage right now would really kill my progress. I just don't have the time. I am not ant- immigration by any means, but I have to say that I'm anti-illegal because if they are affecting the medical care system..that is unacceptable. Elderley people have problems getting meds as well..pathetic

Yes, there is a huge difference in being anti-immigrant and being anti-illegal. I understand where you are coming from. They (illegal) want to be Americans? They want free medical? Put them straight in our armed forces and send them to Iraq.

It is stories like ~LA BORIQUA's~ that tick me off the most about this situation regarding health care for illegals!! Her story is just one in a million......so many more out there in the same situation, it truly depresses me to hear peoples stories like this.

I agree. We had to drop our health insurance because it went up to 1200 a month for 2 people. It's ridiculous that citizens of the US can't afford insurance, yet the illegals in this country have more benefits than they can shake a stick at.
And I don't understand why they are so anxious to come to the US any more. Most of the jobs that were once feeding the mouths of American citizens have gone to countries like Mexico, China, the Philippines, etc. It's just not right! There should be a law that says if you start a company in the US you had better keep it in the US or you won't be able to sell your product here once you leave.
Let me be President for 1 week. That's all I ask.

American citizens do not take abusive advantage of this law. For the most part Americans have known this law was for extreme cases for the poor. This illegal influx has taken advantage of this law using it continuously for simple medical problems, abusing it to the point of causing many hospitals to close. The law should not include simple medical procedures (first-aid) and there should be screening in order to not give continual care to illegal people or people who actually have some funds to pay at least a portion of their medical costs, as do most Americans.

Because our welfare and Medicaid system is so screwed up. I'm 26, I have a 4 year old, and I work as a Substitute. I have no insurance, and I come out of pocket when my daughter has to go to the doctor (she had to go to the ER a few weeks ago, I'm DREADING that bill). I suffer at home when I'm sick.
Meanwhile, illegals get Medicaid and everything else, but I "make too much" ($85 a day, and remember I'm a SUBSTITUTE who goes in when there are jobs available, and not to mention that I'm in the process of getting another degree AND that I can't afford daycare as well as make too much for those daycare vouchers that illegals get as well. At least she's able to go the Pre-k this year).
Life sucks for those of us trying to make it HONESTLY.
PS to the uninformed who are saying that you have to have a valid SSN, GEE! What about those who have FAKE DOCUMENTS? That's what most of them HAVE.

Yep, Get this I pay over $200.00 with prescription plan. I am 8 months pregnant. I had to get this shot. Consider this shot to be life or death for me or my unborn child. My freaking insurance didn't cover it. I had to pay $120.00. WTF. Then I start to think about the Elderly and they have nothing.
But our government is willing to help illegals then our grandparents. That has to stop.

Because this nation is filled with a bunch of liberal douche bags, that care more about other people than their fellow Americans. Illegal aliens just go to the emergency room for their needs, then never pay the bill...... Emergency care can not be denied to anyone, regardless of what they are there for. They can have a cough, and go to the emergency room, and the hospital has no choice but to treat them..... Now who do you think is paying for that? We are! In our insanely high insurance rates.

There are so many people whose job is illegal aliens, There are black leaders and his-Spanish leaders who push these measures though and it's because of the vote of legal Spanish/black voters.
Declaring someone a minority is the simplest was to get the govern met involved and when the government is involved the only way they know how to handle things is with free money to shut them-up. There are too many Americans on the Federal and State level whose jobs are to give our money away.
Your best bet is to vote, *****, gripe and complain to your congressmen. If every American who doesn't like the system giving our money away would today write, phone, email his/her Representative in all levels of government it would change.

i cannot tell you how much i agree with this question!!!!!
i was born and raised here and i just found out that my daughter's father , who is recovering from chemo and radiation, is battling the insurance company because his benefits have been exhausted and canceled as of sept. 1. He cannot recieve any gov't help for benefits because he recieves too much $ from his social security disability. Meanwhile i see all kinds of illegals taking their children and them selves to the doctor and recieving health benefits while i pray my daughter doesn't get sick because we have no cvrg for her until we find some solution!!!!

And for whoever said illegals aren't getting free insurance because they have to provide a ssn your wrong they wrk and live off of old and made up ssns!!!!!!
