Listen: you need to do 200 minutes of cardio a week. Remember fat does not turn into muscle, so you need to lose your fat while putting on muscle. The 45 minute thing is not true, but don't over 60 minutes at a time.

Do 5-10 minutes of cardio to warm up, then do your weight training. Do 30 to 60 minutes more of cardio, then go home.

The best time to eat is just after your workout within an hour when your metabolism is raging. For your muscles, incorporate some isolated soy protein or whey protein. Whey is more potent but the soy tastes better!

Don't look at your scale as the be all and end all, but get a measuring tape to check your progress, and that will show more tangible results.

Good luck and stick at it.

I'm no fitness expert, but I do know some information about working out. Starting out at 4 weeks, is good, but not enough to likely satisfy your goals. Be aware that all body types differ, so it does take time to see results. Normally, you'd create a workout routine to fit your schedule and one you can perform well. You would use the plan for about 5-6 weeks and change it up after that so you work on different muscles and have your body get use to different routines. Your plan is a good start, but I would recommend adding some cardio in there, running, biking, anything to get your heart rate going. Increasing your lifting weight is a good thing, but more reps is even better. Also, you need to consider how you will eat. Anyone can workout intensively, but are they eating right? This plays a critical role with acquiring results. My advice is to start your plan, eat healthy, consider consuming lots of protein which help build and heal muscle, specifically (Whey Protein), and continue some sort of workout after your 4 week break. Working out is a continuous duty, you can't just workout until you get your results and stop, otherwise, all that hard work will disappear faster than it took you to get that way.... I'm sure you know that though... Good Luck, check out bodybuilding.com for useful articles and tips to working out!

That sounds like a pretty light routine. If you want to bulk up & tone you'll have to do more than that.
