Sunset Blvd is famous for its hookers on the street. Those lookers has caused traffic backed up all the way to the freeway. So, if you don't have a legitimate reason to visit the area. The cop can give you a ticket for cruising on Sunset Blvd. If you just want to see hookers, take the bus to the area.

Geez, why would you want to cruise Sunset? I used to always be over there like 25 years ago to go to nightclubs for live concerts and I went with a group of guys and as soon as the show was over, we'd get OUTTA there. That's not a place for fun and games.

Because LA is a car city. People drive door to door, hardly do any walking. Cruising would add congestion to already busy thoroughfare and cause decreased infulx of people into the local businesses - everyone would be stuck in their cars instead of spending their hard earned money on overpriced drinks and club entrance fees.
Plus what the answerer before me said.

The Opening scene where the character talks on his own death as he lays face down in a swimming pool. I recommend talking about the character's acceptance that his life is doomed and there is nothing he can do about it. He is neither good or bad, just a man caught in the web of the world's sad destiny.

Because there is already enough traffic to begin with. if they allowed cruising it would be more congested.

it's already a congested thoroughfare to be begin with .

the powers to be are concerned that with cruising will come more traffic ..........more spectators .........and thus potential for more accidents .............

at least that's what they have been saying since the 70's ..........when we cruised ..........lol

cheers !
