B/f John (Eng. Lit graduate) always brings the conversation round at dinner parties to Thoreau and his bloody wooden shed. I trained as an educationlist and would dearly like to discuss my favourite, P M Gagne with his emphasis on concept learning which has had considerable heuristic value in education and how it ties in with Skinner. By the time John's finished we are usually on the pudding.

PM Gagne sheds are much better built, they use brass screws which don`t rust, I used to have a Thoreau shed but it fell to bits in the bad weather.

One assumes all the other dinner guests want to discuss this? If not, you should *both* stop reverting to your favourite subjects and let other people speak - they have opinions too.
