they have a "banana tree" that you can hang them on and they stay fresh longer....also what I do when they start to turn brown, I mash them up and put them in a freezer bag and freeze them until I'm ready to cook with them....banana bread, banana coffee cake...banana pancakes :)

If you want to keep your bananas a little longer you have to buy them when they are a little green in colour and hard to the touch. They will be a little more expensive too, but they will last longer.
When your banana is brown, chop it up, put it into a liquidizer with milk and a spoonful of yogurt - a yummy banana milkshake

Instead of buying the bananas when they are completely yellow, buy the ones that are still a little green. They last a little bit longer. Keep them a little cool but not too cool.

When they start turning yellow put them in a brown paper bag and then put them in the crisper drawer in the fridge. They keep for up to 2-weeks serious. It works.

you can put orange or pineapple juice on the oranges on them to keep them from turning. any kind of citrus drink that has acid in it like orange, pineapple, or lemon juice will work

i thinks its because of oxidation, just like apples. You can try applying it with lemon juice.
