When it's present, the Spirit of God makes a sort of rosy glow around your monitor. If you don't see that, it means the prince of darkness is not far away -except, naturally, it all depends on how the stars & planets are lining up, and whether leprechauns are in the area.

It's easy...all things can be tested by the bible. If what a person says coincides with what God tells us through the bible then they speak truth, if what they say goes against what God tells us through the bible then they are a false prophet/teacher or of "the prince of darkness."

The same way we tell the difference anywhere, except we don't have body language and tone of voice to take into consideration.
We are to test the spirits by whether they believe that Jesus is the Son of God. Of course they know He is, but will try to tell us otherwise.

Satan is not on the internet. You are not going to talk to the Spirit of God on the internet. You call anything that goes against your personal moral beliefs the work of Satan and anything that conforms to them the work of God, but perceptions are subjective. What you believe is evil may not be what I think is evil, or what the person above me thinks is evil, or what my roommate thinks is evil. The same goes for goodness. There is no absolute moral.
I do find it funny when people accuse Pagan friends of mine who, like myself, do not believe in Satan or Hell, of being Satanists.

"If they speak not according to this Word, it is because there is no truth in them" -from the bible
"Test the spirits , for many false prophets have gone out into the world".

The bible says to try the spirits to see if they are of God. Satan is a sly spirit But we can discern the spirits. And we can know who really are Christains & who are not.

By the words used. If It is a question of a spiritual nature GOD will answer according to what is in scripture. Although Satan knows scripture, he will tweak just enough of it to make it wrong.

If they line up with the word of God, they could be Chrisitians, If they speak against what the word of God says they are of the wicked one.
