Yes. My grandmother (a retired RN/anesthetist) taught me to sneeze into the crook of my arm. Sneezing into your hand really accomplishes nothing, other than to prevent a few of the germs from going airborne. Unless this happens IN the bathroom and you can wash your hands right there, what's the point? Think of all the things you're going to touch before you get to the bathroom--if you're at work, it would be the door handle to your office, the copier, the coffee pot, the handle to the bathroom. You may have stopped some of the germs from spreading through the air, but the next person who comes behind you and touches the door handle is in for it! :)

I sneeze into the crook of my arm, and actually face downward so that the germs/sneeze that does escape heads downward.

I think a tissue would be best but if you don't have one then I too think it's better to sneeze into your arm because it's more sanitary and it prevents passing on the germs to other as well. Another thing why I prefer to sneeze into my arm is when I sneeze using my hands, I notice that my face especially the part around my mouth tends to smell like saliva and that's gross.

Yes, it's better to sneeze into the crook of your arm, or even just down and off to the side, away from people. Sneezing into your hand is pretty much pointless if you're trying to keep germs from spreading.

It is considered the best means of infection control to sneeze into the inside of your elbow, thereby not transferring the germs to your hand, which will then come in contact with many other objects. Even my kids cover their sneezes and coughs this way. Any doctor or nurse will tell you this is the apporpriate way.

It is recommended to sneeze on your arm, since you don't spread the germs hand to hand . It is best to use a Kleenex or handkerchief if possible.

Viruses are spread so fast with lack of hand washing, so be sure to keep that on track.

Sneezing on your hand is a wonderful way to spread germs...especially if you don't wash your hands...we teach the children in our school that if they don't have a tissue to sneeze in their elbow.

If there is no tissue I sneeze in my shirt I know sounds gross but I don't like spreading germs in your hand you have to wash them after and while going to wash them you spread them all over the place

Sneezing into your arm looks silly, and it is easier to wash your hands.
