Collecting up a crixket ball and throwing it back, a fellow fieldsman said I was like Noel Coward. "I have a talent to amuse?" I asked, "No" He said "You're a poof." Should I tell him the real reason I throw a ball like that? That I broke my wrist on a mission, parachuting into Bechuanaland with the SAS, or just ignore the prejudiced swine?

if you were really in the SAS then you can just sneak into his home and snap his neck while he sleeps

that'll learn him

In answer to the actual question... IGNORE THE IDIOT.

but in furtherance. I have known a few SAS from my time in the USN during Desert Storm. I have never met a more dedicated professional group of soldiers in my life. they are very much NOT the sort to be bragging around and are very low key and quiet.
That a Member (even a former member) would come on an open forum such as this and even contemplate asking a question like that is beyond credibility.
in Other-words: I find your claim of being SAS hard to swallow considering the nature of your question and this forum.

You don't have to make excuses (especially to people like that), you have a right to throw a ball like a poof and enjoy doing so. Anyway, poofs don't throw balls (no pun intended) badly (probably) though girls do (probably) - not wishing to offend anyone.

I would ignore him. It's sad that some people judge before they know the whole story. Just a bad case of ignorance.

I'd Ignore him, let him remain ignorant. Remember the ignorant are always easy to amuse!

Confront him in public preferably at the club then limp away saying that the war wound is giving you pain and watch him wither.

What an idiot - him not you!!! I would not bother explaining anything.... He doesn't deserve that and by explaining you are simply allowing him to be more of an idiot. I would instead challenge him on his views on homosexuals and find out what his need is to talk like that.

Ignore him, even if you told him he wouldnt be interested anyway. In this case it just showed your modesty and his ignorance.

It's a bit late now, you should have said something at the time, he'll think your making it all up now and won't believe you!
Think you missed your chance!
