A dog, they begin life on 4 legs, then it gets shot by a mean neighbor and is forced to drag the back of his body on little wagon type thing, and his life ends when the owner's take him to a vet and they try to sew another dog's leg onto the dog but it doesn't work so the owner's have him put down to stop the old dogs suffering.

4 legs when a man is crawling on their hands and knees (baby)
2 legs when a man is walking upright (adult)
3 legs when a man is walking upright but has added support via a walking stick.
(or if your really old or had hip replacements it can go back to 4 with two walking sticks/crutches)
